Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I'm looking into buying a new tv, and i've decided to spend a bit more and get a nice new HDTV set. However the ones i can buy at the moment all say they are 50hz and make no mention of NTSC compatibility (i'm in the uk). I know nothing about all this, and a solid day of googling hasn't turned up anything helpful,
so my question is...
is it even possible to display an NTSC signal on a 50hz lcd? I know my old crt box was 50hz and displayed NTSC stuff in black and white, so would that happen the same or are lcd's different in some way? almost all my dvds are ntsc region 1 so i need the tv to display them properly.
please excuse my ignorance... it's an area i've never payed the slightest attention to.

this is my first and only bump... just to get it back on the first page for the UK evening crowd... since they're my best hope... i'll leave the thread alone after this.

this is the one i'm looking at at the moment, and it says - "Frequency: 50 Hertz"..... your question is exactly what i'm asking do they all cope with 60?

I mean I'd be staggered if it didn't. Absolutely amazed and confused. I mean most games on consoles need a 60hz tv anyway. My old Sony CRT supports it fine!

I'm pretty sure most will easily cope with 60hz...
