Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Was happily playing wow yesterday with no problems at all. I shut down the computer as normal.
My girlfriend tried to turn the computer on last night and it appears my hard drive has failed.
the computer tried to boot from CD and then from Network adaptors and then fails and tries again. Ad infinitum.
Now i have no problem with getting a new HD this one was old anyway.
The thing is there are some photos on the HD that weren't backed up (my fault) but my girlfriend is really cut up to lose them. Is there any way to recover the data from the HD?
Im thinking i might try a new drive with windows installed and i might be able to read the other drive, as it still appears in the bios. I wonder if perhaps the boot sector is borked and not the rest. Is this likely to work?
