(edit: maybe the as-of-yet unnamed Bioware MMO will be switched over to The Sims Online 2! If not, they'll find some other way to make it suck.)

It was crossed long ago with Origin. EA's acquisitions almost always end in tears.

Well, Bioware has made okay games since BG II, most of their releases have been pretty bleh. But still, this leaves Bethesda as the only big name maker of PC RPGS.....

Obsidian has yet to prove they can even make a real game, rather than sloppy sequels to Bioware's.

One of them will be a party game for the Wii. When it sales poorly, EA will blame it on Nintendo.

Atari already whored out the license with those crappy ps2 games. More of the same isn't going to do any more damage.

Interplay still owns the rights to Baldur's Gate.

As for the acquisition, we don't really know how it's going to turn out.

As much as everyone hates EA, they've been getting a lot better lately for some reason.

I wonder what the hell this means for the Sonic the Hedgehog RPG that Bioware's making for the DS. EA and Sega would be pretty strange bedfellows.

Which actually only published Baldur's Gate. I know its hard to believe because of their later stuff, but Bioware actually made BG series themselves.
