Seattle Thread - Or - How I saw someone get shot last night
Well, I didn't see the actual shooting, but it went like this:
I am sitting in bed going to sleep around 3am and the cops show up outside the house with their light and whatnot. This happens fairly often in my neighborhood (26 & S. Washington). Not again I say, it's hard to sleep with flashy blue and red lights coming in my window.
And then I hear the shots.
The fact that the cops were there BEFORE the shots is good. That means it's not just random.
So yeh. About 2 minutes later (which is really longer than I expected) approximately every cop in Seattle had swarmed the neighborhood.
Two guys were shot, I'd say both by the cops, but I'm not sure. One in the shoulder and one in the leg. They were laying directly across the street from my front door.
There is a lot of blood on the sidewalk. The guy with the leg injury was really spurting.
It was funny watching the cops extremely cautiously approach a slowly flailing guy who was obviously in tramatic shock, and once close enough whip some handcuffs on him. I suspect they pulled a weapon on the cops.
Which, you know. That's what happens when you do something stupid like that. With the SPD, they're lucky they only got shot in the leg.
I'm not actually upset about this. It's hardly ideal, don't get me wrong, but it almost seems like the fact that it happened directly in front of my house was just a coincidence.
So... Has anyone else seen any gunshot wounds?
EDIT: THIS IS PARTIALLY UNTRUE READ THE PI ARTICLE.
