I got bored and threw together a collage of the timeline from the old Aperture Science viral website. (I couldn't find a text version of it for easy reading.. if anyone knows of one, feel free to point me towards it. :P)

I would be shocked beyond belief if that was in any way, shape, or form official. No way Valve's using a .us address.

    Signature not found.

....Probably a fan site? It's registered to a guy in Norway -- email indicates his website's http://bjarte.info and it looks pretty obviously like a personal site. (Though he's obviously a Portal fan, his desktops are all named Aperture something or other.)

It was amusing to have Massachusetts as part of our country, but now, of course, like so much of the coastal nation, it no longer qualifies as America.

IF I know anything about webcode, I would make a website that had a gif of GLaDOS in the back ground, actually, I would use this

I think a lot of those pictures are upside down, though. Could someone post time at all four views?

They're making some brilliant discoveries with the sound files.

You know, on road trips at night, I used to recommend putting on the old HL soundtrack because it was unnerving and eerie as hell

I'm glad Valve is keeping that theme

It really does sound like a lower pitched, slowed down voice overs of the Combine Overwatch:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6pZkmCPwlI

I think that in either Portal 2 or Episode 3 they'll somehow tie together that the Combine Overwatch actually is a AI based on the AI technology from Aperture Science. Or you know, vice versa.

EDIT: ah yeah, he just "found" the sound file. That screams fake. :(

I'm pretty sure someone just grabbed the sample from HL2, added some distortion and slowdown and then threw it out there claiming it to be a new cleaned up sound file.

You really think so? Valve's comedy writing has been unbelievably strong since the orange box (I'm including their official blogs in this, and other ancillary material created for promotional purposes). I guess it depends on how well the non-sequeters work outside the game.

It's fake. Just a sound file someone grabbed from Episode 2 and did some some crap to then pretended it was from this arg.

At the risk of getting bottomthread'd:
Take your daughter to work day...did we ever confirm Chell was an employee and not someone's child???

That was one of the theories, but really, we have no way of knowing if she was an employee, an employee's child, some random person off the street, or an android made in the facility.

Given the persistent mother/daughter analogies in the interactions between Chell and Glados (Okay, one-way interactions, for the most part, except that last one), I wonder if the Cave/(Chell?) relationship is going to be a more father/daughter one?

Which does raise the question: What if that's also the reality?

Another thought: The previous escapee who wrote all the messages behind the walls - how did s/he get Cave Johnson's login details? Or what if the c in cjohnson *isn't* Cave?
