My wife was watching Desperate Housewives tonight, and I was shocked to see Nathan Fillion as the husband of the newest Housewife.

So why the demographic shift? Is it a ploy to raise fe?male viewership, or just a way for him to pay his bills?

I can't think he would be worried about being typecast as a sci-fi guy, (see James T. Kirk), so why did he take the roll?
