Great. I now have a useless Leopard install DVD that I waited three extra days for. And I'll probably have to send the MacBook to an Apple Store because apparently the DVD drive is functionally retarded.

I poop things on my site and twitter

He did not. Elki just locked the thread and split the two last posts into a new [chat] thread.

Also, I don't care. I made my own [chat] thread in the D&D Facebook group. Try locking me now, Elks! whahahahaha!

Yeah, it's a split. I wondered how I'd posted in a different [chat] at first.

There was a DVD drive update available that I installed before popping in the Leopard DVD.

    Maybe that helps. :(

Software Update says there isn't anything new. My drive has been acting like this since about the time 10.4.10 was released. DVDs have generally worked the few times my mom has tried to watch them since then, but CDs (and now the installer DVD) are simply spun up twice and then ejected.

Edit: Actually, I think it started doing this when iTunes 7.4 was released. My mistake.

Goddamnit. It seems that my wad of note-cards has walked out on me. Unless they turn up, I'm going to have to do them all over again in addition to what work I planned to do today. :(

So, should I read McCarthy's The Road first or Brooks' World War Z first?

Or should I just do the reading I need to do for school =/

I really liked WWZ. In written and in audio form.

Edit: We don't have any Apple Stores, yet. So far I had no problems with mine, but should something come up, there's just the send-in option.

Like a court martial but not as extreme. Rather than have an actual trial they just admit their guilt and receive punishment from their commanding officer. From the looks of it she's getting at least restriction since they're escorting her out and having her get her sea bag ready for inspection. Which sucks for her husband since he'll be alone taking care of their child.

Ribosome structure and function. I made it through most of the way, and then I just stopped caring when he started talking about mechanism of translation termination. He was one of those speakers who says a lot of words, but very little content. I'm just going to go back and read the background paper later.

Oh man, the Forums are being very slow and icky today. I had to give up on checking which comic Elks used to lock the last thread because it gateway timed out twice trying to read the last page of [Chat].

    I hope it gets better.

That sounds incredibly boring. Probably moreso than writing up 150 note-cards on the PRC's economy.

I'm a grad student, so I don't know if you'd technically call it a major per se, but I'm in the Biology department. Ribosomes are pretty cool, but this lecture was much more talking than learning. :P

Once I found the place I'm looking for, is there a way to get rid of the green arrow Google Map puts on it so I can take a nice screenshot?

Nah I am proud of my goatse collection. I really only worry about my kitty cat getting out, but the PM says he won't let that happen, though he's absent minded. Like he forgot we gave him a check once.
