    I was there in the room with them--one of my jobs is wrangling media for PA. G&T weren't too happy with me after the G4 thing, but I figured it was a good chance to expose G4 viewers to something cool: PAX.

    I know that the community has issues with G4 but the fact that they were there at all says to me that they're at least willing to to try to cover events that we actually care about.     I skipped through the show, and didn't see any footage or mention of PAX, couldn't stand to actually watch the damn thing, but I still didn't see anything on fast forward.

    Okay, I checked it out. The intro was... odd, but all in all I think PAX came out looking pretty good. And for my bits, they actually showed the points I most wanted to convey: substance over style, kickass attendees, something for everyone. So I'm thankful for that.

    Now I wonder how the G&T interview turns out...

    No Gabe and Tycho interview as far as I can tell, they just had some cheesy bit with him trying to get into their room and two Enforcers stopping him. It would've been nice to see, but G4 doesn't want to make fun of themselves I guess.

    It does look like they just postponed it, though. Apparently it'll be on today's show, as you said. I am quite interested to see how they show it, given what I've heard about how it went. Somehow I doubt they'll show Gabe telling the host about how he's going to be sodomized.

    They had Dr. David Thorpe from Something Awful describe Goatse. So who knows. I have a feeling that they intended it to be part of a sketch, since it's uncharacteristic for them to be dicks to their guests.

    I took the time to fast-forward the TiVo through it in the hopes that they'd show more from PAX, but they didn't. You didn't miss a thing.

    For those that didn't see it:

    -It was more of a parody of those serious Barbar Walters type interviews than anything else. The questions were more joke questions that were asked in a dramatic manner ("Are you Gabe & Tycho? Or are Gabe & Tycho you?") with dramatic music in the background.
    -They cut the rabid bore part, but they did air a couple lines about how they hate Kevin.
    -The questions asked went over their position among the many other video game/technology webcomics. Tycho described them as holding their beating hearts above a mayan temple. Fairly accurate.
    -They said a lot of nice things about the convention/people afterwards.

    Maybe they should have informed G&T that it was meant to be more of a parody.

    Now they're doing a really good interview with the EFF about Second Life/City of Heroes/Machinima.

    I know it's popular to be hating on G4 these days, but I've gotta admit that the interview (as shown on TV) was well done. Entertaining and certainly not degrading.
