Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
It took me until yesterday to realise that if there is a sentry gun right around a corner pressed against the wall (ooh, nice hiding place), you can run out with the flame on and circle it, and it takes so long to respond that you can flame it goooood.
maybe they should make it so that demoman grenades explode on contact with engineer-built structures even after the bounce, but not with players unless it hasn't yet bounced
I think there's a need for that, and it would fit with their purpose (I mean, demolition? with that name, they really should be better at taking out sentries)
No, I do. I wasn't aware that a critical hit with your melee was a one-hit kill. I heard one guy on my team say they were exploiting these glitches off of youtube and I was frustrated enough with my connection speed and my own poor performance to be pissed at about anything.

Engineers tremble at tales of my holy flame.
I thank all the people who taught me very early on about what sort of places are really bad places to put sentries. It's also fun to take that knowledge as a soldier and make other engineers cry.
Things like shooting through a window at the far end of the map (point b, on gravel pit) to nail a gun that's in the middle of the front doorway. Yeah, that's a great spot for it, now go build another one cutie pie.
It takes a lot of practice, and sometimes a lot of luck. No amount of patience will prevent you getting caught if someone just happens to bump into you as you come around a corner, especially if that someone happens to be a soldier/pyro.

There is (or was the glitch) where you swapped weapon half way through a melee attack, I think, didn't try it personally, then once you swap back you get an instant attack and can do another attack as well. So double heavy punch... still don't know how much that is. Spies could use that to stab from either cloak or disguise without break it
Also the weird priming a backstab so you can stab anyone from any position and it will still register a backstab seems to still be in the game, pretty sure I took one of those today, not 100% sure though.
But if you were a scout or something its quite probable the melee crit will just one shot you, ran up to a demo for a point blank scatter and took a bottle crit and just died from 125. It sucked hard.
I got more points as a medic (ended up topping the score table) as I have in 8 hours of play as a soldier.
I like to kill things, but man do points rack up when you keep your entire team alive (apart from one) in a round of Well (or was it Granary?) sudden death.
I don't know how you play Spy so much/well PotU, I have no patience for it and there's been so many situations where I've been screwed out of a kill for some glitch.
I've been trying to get better at demo and I'm actually doing okay in a few specific instances with him, but I'll usually be at the bottom of the points table. Then I switch to soldier or pyro next round and get tons of captures and kills. I really wanted to be a well-rounded player but it's not happening yet.
I can pretty much only play spy on attack/defend maps where there are necessarily going to be a lot of engineer bases set up. I need easy targets, I think.

You get used to the dying. And that sometimes you're backstabs just don't work. And that people see you even though you're miles away from them and cloaked.
The most satisfying is when you're behind the enemy lines and just stab your way through them.
And killing Flippy_D all the time, that's awesome.

There's one part of Hydro I really hate as spy, though.
The one where one team starts in the base with the generators and all and the other one in that bowl thingy and the middle of the stage is this earth bridge where you can fall down.
Yea, that stage is kinda hard for a spy. If you can get back there though you get some nice kills. It's just hard cause both passages are small and everyone is usually shooting through them or have pyros running through.
Because it can become really boring very often. Also SD in a CTF game is stupid. If you are winning 2-1 and time runs out you should be declared the winner.

Dustbowl and Gravelpit are definitely the strongest maps and I never complain about them. Well/Granary, however... I hate the momentum shift that the winning team gets, in that their spawn timer is less and that each cap point thereafter takes less time to cap. 2fort, well, that depends on my mood I guess and also who is playing. Oh yeah, hydro is fun. I like the variety and random paths.

Apparently the grenades in TFC we're cool
I was playing so horrible last time.

The official forum, maybe?
Also, these days I lose the connection to the servers pretty often.

Killing Flippy is my favorite part of spying.
Job's full of stupid mods like melee only SD and map change timer and shit. And no 2fort.
2fort is actually pretty great when you play it for a while.
But fuck Well so hard in all it's ovaries.
But I do like melee SD as well
it's no worse than Hydro or Granary when the teams are unbalanced
these guys need to add in some custom CTF maps if 2Fort is so bad
melee SD is the way to go, though
PS: Hydro is probably the best or second best.
PPS: I love regular SD.

No chance to do anything there, really.
Should try heavy there one of these days.

Hey butters, thread title should be "Need a teleporter here!"
If for no other reason than it was funny for a solid 5 minutes the other day.
no, we don't need a fuckin' teleporter

Game runs perfectly with AA/AF on. Not cranked up all the way, but looks pretty good.

ep 1 was pretty awesome
