Wonder Woman Fashion Extravaganza! (Update Pg. 3)

Project Rooftop is currently holding a contest to redesign Wonder Woman's costume. Anything goes, but generally the goal is to come up with something that could believably be used in the comic as her regular costume. From the guidelines:
3. Keep in mind, the task is not to re-imagine the characters, but to revise their costuming. Think of it as if you’ve just been assigned to the series, and have been asked to redesign the character’s costume, not the character. Try to create a BETTER costume than the one currently in use, not just a variant.

So while they might be fun, Elseworlds-style costumes aren't really the goal here. The entries are due on Tuesday, so I've pretty much got to do the final drawing tomorrow. I already have a favorite but I'm sort of curious to see what other people think. (#1 is basically her current costume.)

It's like a design sheet for a new Wonder Woman Barbie.

You've got regular Diana, evening gown Diana, club whore Diana...

I guess 8 looks alright, as I've always thought that Wondy looked cool with a cape. But you need the signature emblem on the front though.

    15 is just...bleh.

I dig 10, but not the boots as they are too visually complex. 10 with the boots of 11 wouldn't be bad. A lot of the others i can't imagine the character actually choosing to wear due to complexity or impracticality. I like the layouts of 7 and five, but i'm not digging the non traditional color schemes. If I picked up a wonderwoman comic with her in it, I would immediately think secondary character like the u.s. agent to captain america.

I really like 3, 8, 9 and 14. I especially like the cape in 3, though the mask looks very uncomfortable.

Can't you see it in my eyes, I'm the one I'm the ONE TWO THREE FOUR I'm not like the other guys, (he's not like anybody, well..) That's not completely right There's a few that I'm just like Steven and the Stevens, We're gonna make you smile. Me, myself, and I and him, Are all the same guy.Steven and the Stevens, Come on now don't be shy. Me myself and I and him (That's me!) Are all the same guy.

#8 would be perfect if you lost the WW clasp for the cape and put it back on the chest. Then again, that would just make it the regular costume, more or less, with a cape. Therefore, not very original.

#4 would be perfect for a new direction for the book "Agent Diana Prince, Protector of Greece"

DMAC I wish I had your talent. I'd love to enter this, but unfortunately unless the masses want a masked "Starman" version of the costume...I'm pretty much screwed.

Maybe try something different for the chests? A diagonal, like with some of the skirts?

She seems to just have a series of tube tops as options, without any kind of zippers or something, which are easier to slip in and out of or adjust for weather.

Consider the costume from an actual practical standpoint a bit.

Diana really should be hefting some full-on battle armor, a la Samus Aran.

14 is closest to that feel but should have more keen armors and such.

The bracelet design from 2 with that etching design on the metal corset from 6, the boots from 9 under the boots from 13, also with the designs from the bracelets. The skirt from 11 and the top from 14. I really like the 300/Sparta type cape and brioche from 9. The crown form 10.

There you go. I am not good with colors. But the lines from the ones I mentioned I liked. I always felt more comfortable with women going into battle with some armor instead of bikinis.

4 is cool in a classic (read: 70s) Perez sort of way, but the white hot-pants are just a tad too much. Recolored it could be a real winner, though.

I really like 11. The skirt-cape thing is sexy in a wholesome, pinuppy sort of way, and the opera gloves add a touch of class that I think complement her personality nicely.

I like 7 and 15 since they look like something that a hero could actually wear without being embarest. They look professional and not the old Swimsuit/Striperweare of the 90(one of the things I hate about her costume now).

I hate 11 for the same reason. It say to me:" I have a vagina between my legs!" and is not something I would think any women would wear in real life. then there is 5 and 12, whats keeping the costume up? I see no straps so I must assume that her perky breasts are doing a sterling job! remember she is supposed to fight hand to hand with supervillans.

Interesting. Votes have been more all over the board than I expected. I won't be able to start until after work today so if you've got an opinion, I'd still love to hear it. I might actually end up cleaning up a few of these if I have time.

2, 6, 11, and 14. Two might be too close to her Silver Age costume, but I like bringing back the short skirt, which is why I picked 6, 11, and 14. I would pick 9, but I don't like the top. Maybe if it covered more of her midriff. They are really good designs, though. Excellent work.

i like the idea of a dress i.e. 11, 3, and 13. however, im trying to think of her fighting and kicking people and it looks like i might be a little hard to draw/look good.

i would stay away from something that uses a different color scheme, i.e. 4,5,6, and maybe 7. like you said, its a redesign not an elseworld. the basic template should still be there.

i think an important detail is the crown/tiara and what the might bring to the character. number 9 and 3 for example would really bring out the warrior side in WW. With the nose guard and everything a close up of her face would look menacing.

7 looks cool, but the color scheme makes her look like girl-robin.

personally i think I like 10, though I'm not sure about the boots.

I like 3 and 11, but if you put number 11 with, say, the leggings from 14 that would probably be the winner for me.

Yeah, it's funny how adding that nose guard really makes it feel like a warrior's helm.

i just don't like the belt on 7, and the color scheme doesn't feel like wonder woman. though i guess in light of 'recent' events, maybe she shouldn't be viewed the same as she always has been and therefore the color scheme should change.

I like number three, but I'd like to see the skirt a bit higher on her right side, maybe a little below the knee so it wouldn't interfere with her fighting, and a little lower on her left, so it doesn't look so trampy. Then maybe make the arms bare. Wonder Woman's got a difficult costume to redesign, because she needs to look attractive and desirable, while still remaining a bit stately and austere.

I also really like 5, though it seems almost too superheroish, 6 I'd like to see with some different colors on it, and 11's great, but I'd like to see it without sleeves and the crotch portal in the front.

Yeah that's what I was trying to do with mine. I was trying to design a costume that was feminine, not slutty, but also showed off her warrior side

I like all of them with skirts. Full pants just doesn't seem right on WW but those hot pants she wears have got to go. 8 with the skirt from 9 would probably be my pic. I think 6 could be a real winner if it was reworked a bit to include some red.
