Seriously. The "i" rule is from Latin, and doesn't even apply to all Latin nouns. "Octopus" is Greek. If you wanted to pluralize it the correct way, it would be "octopoda"

Just to clarify: if you ever use "octopoda" in normal speech, you are a fucking tool.

I just recently got a computer virus of similar description, were you looking at dog on horse porn too?
Let me know if using AVG works, I haven't gotten back to hooking my computer back together after I frightfully kicked it out a window.

Okay, now when I try to open most applications (media player, AVG, Dwarf Fortress) I get an error saying the parameter is incorrect. WTF?

I can't even uninstall AVG, for christ's sake.

Another error that I'm getting is that I don't have permission to access my programs.:x

Sounds like it is time to reformat. And to uninstall programs that don't show up in your start menu use Add/Remove programs. It is in Control panel. If using xp or vista you may want to change to classic view to see it easier.

And I was serious about reformating. If you install an Antivirus like AVG and stuff stops opening you have serious problems. Like Super Cereal.

    Nah, no dog on horse.

AVG seems to be helping, although I'm still getting popups (less often now), even after doing that Bitdefender thing.

Also it keeps bombarding me with stuff asking me to heal viruses and whatnot. I wish it would just do it itself instead of bothering me.

Someone has to know a tool that can just smite a folder from existence.

Everything I've found has been concerned with temp files and whatnot.

I'd very much like my computer back.

DOS can smite folders. It isn't wise to do so though. If AVG is not stopping popups you will need to download a spyware/malware scanner like Lavasoft's Ad Aware. However most antisoftware tools will only do half the work they could do unless you pay a fee to get the full edition. It could be anywhere from $10-100

I don't have problems with popups. Zone Alarm + Spybot + NoScript keep me pretty clean.

I installed AVG, as I am technically without antivirus. AVG proceeded to deem My Computer a virus, remove my admin privileges, and now I can't open some programs.

I used msconfig to open without AVG on startup, which let me delete the folder, but some programs still give me the error "The parameter is incorrect" upon trying to open them, whereas some previously inaccessible programs are now working.
