Guitar Hero 2 won't load - sort of unusual.

Topic title says most of it - my brother's copy of Guitar Hero 2 doesn't load. But this isn't a disc read error; the game apparently loads and appears in the browser screen as "Playstation 2 Disc" but when you select it the screen goes black for a while and then boots you right back to the browser screen. Apparently it doesn't happen with other discs, either.
I've never seen this problem before. Any suggestions?

IE it still exists but doesn't have the label.
I mean, it has worked before right? It's not like your disc is pristine and it's not loading other Guitar Hero II copies.
Mods had might as well lock this if they see it.
