So today's class was about Luke's notion of Virgin Conception, and it was one of the most intellectually and religiously inspiring things I have ever encountered.

That's nice.
Just how the fuck does it make sense, again?
He just railed against the notion of Mary as the summit of human chastity and holiness, St. Jerome's translation of Maria keXaristemei as "Mary, full of grace" and St. Augustine's hellenistic leanings, instead arguing in favor of Mary as a recipient of a gift, who existed as a woman of God.
Nothing that would probably interest a lot of people, but I found it fascinating.

None of the ostensibly Catholic people I know know what the Immaculate Conception refers to.
I like to rub it in their face that I know more than they do and they claim to follow the goddamned religion.

price range 2K or thereabouts, size between 40 and 50 inches
Plasma or LCD? DLP OK? What is the primary use? Yes, you opened a can of worms but I will help sort them.
LCD preferably. DLP is not preferable; too much maintenance and not bright enough.
It will be used for sports, DVD's, and gaming.
As someone already said, the Sammys are going to be great. The LN-T4069F is Sammy's best bet right now. You could move up to the '71' (instead of '69' [hurr hurr]) series but honestly for the $200 all you get is a better contrast ratio (marginally better at that) and a glossy screen (what the fuck can someone tell me why glossy is better). If I had $2k to blow on a set right now, that'd be my target. Unfortunately that's clocking in around $2.1-2.2k right now, so that might be a bit north of your budget.

Don't forget the debt!

It is even in a book called Soviet Music and Society Under Lenin and Stalin: The Baton and Sickle.
I'm just surprised he got his own -ism. That's a solid accomplishment.
Dig it, I'll give you the vent info when you get on.
I still say Cthulhu did it.
