I don't remember much though
One of the first episodes of it that I had ever seen. It was, perhaps, the only thing I'd watch on CN.
That flashback episode was awesome, even more so in that most people don't get the Lone Wolf and Cub reference.

there was an episode of Duck Dodgers called "Samurai Quack" that pokes fun at this very thing

This was easily the coolest fight scene in the entire series.

My favorite episode was honestly the pilot, when he fought off the robo beetle things and taught the dogs to fight for themselves. Plus the learning to fight over many years montage was great.
I lookd it up before so I knew what to search under. That isn't the same video I found before, though. I guess Cartoon Network must have had them take the full versoin down, cause the video I linked here cuts short before the fight actually ends. At the last second, Jack uses his sword to create a glare and spot the Shinobi, then throws hte sword into the guy's chest.
It's easily my favorite fight scene in the show, but not my favorite episode. My favorite would probably be Jack Versus The Rave, where he saves all those brainwashed kids who are being controlled by Aku's Rave music. The one where Jack is turned into a chicken (And fights, as a chicken, in a fucking gladiator pit) is probably the funniest.
Edit: No, the one where Jack smacks around that phony-Samurai played by David Allan Greer is probably the funniest.
They could, but I'm hesitant about anything with Aku in it that isn't done by Mako. That guy really made the role all his own and no one else can come close.
