I loved starting next to the money guys (yellow, don't know the name of the faction) cause they were a pushover and you could steal all their moneys.
The Morgans! They were actually my second-favorite to play as. Everyone starts off hating your fucking guts so you have to be extra-clever to survive the first hundred or so years before you have enough money to start buying and selling entire cities like chattel.

It's against the Cowboys actually, around the 2:30 mark in this video -- #75 at the bottom of the frame is fully looking around, no idea what's going on, as Barry runs to paydirt. Awesome.
edit: about 4:05 is the simply stunning denial of mortal physics that is still the craziest highlight I've ever seen.

Windspear Hills is a tougher quest for early on yeah. The party battles are the best part of the game tho
Also spam hold person and magic missile. And use every bless/prayer/haste type spell before you get in the fight.

What quests do you suggest I do first (after this)? To get some proper gear and some exp?
I already did De'Arnisse stronghold.
Some spoilers(just general quest names and locales)
The circus tent in the promenade. The slavers in the Copper Cornet. Korgans book quest(you have to take Korgan tho), the cult quest in the temple district. The murders in the birdge district
