Internet connection trouble - Win2003Server Virtual PC on Mac

I've installed Virtual PC 2007 on my P-P-P-Powerbook G4- and though the internet connection menu within windows says the connection is working fine, there is no internet connection - it can't even do DNS to ping.
Might this just be a cause of conflict with the wireless, would I have better luck trying to find a wired connection somewhere? Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips getting connection sharing to work with a mac's wireless?
