You guys are just naturals at color and composition. It's always fun to see.

I must ask, are we going to see a storyline unfold anytime soon?

Of course, because I'm me, that dragon going across the top is what I like the best. Especially his gardening hat and little fanny at the end.

I think it was grabbed and used as a ridable grenade into Spec's depression chair. Maybe a "Snag!" on the arm reaching for the star is in order, and more pronounced on squid's riding in. It took me twice over to figure out what had just happened. Fun stuff though!

Oh I get the whole exploding star bit, I just don't understand where the term "The more you know" bit fits in? and why does Spex punch unhappy dude in the chops? I like the jet fighter surfing, crappy infomercial on clinical depression and the general violence, there's just a few panels that I can't make head nor tails of. Maybe it's because I'm so tired I could fall out of my chair, but I suspect it's because Spex and Squidbunny are so completely mental that their tandem contrapulations (yes I made that up) makes sense to them and them alone.

Does it have anything to do with the saying "The more you know, the less you know"?
Why am I spending so much time pondering this? Do I really hope to gain fortuitous insight into the secrets of life by unravelling the mysteries of a Spex/Squid comic collaberation? Tune in next week for the answer to these questions and many more.............god I'm tired.

I beleive THIS website will explain where the "the more you know" thing comes from. It will all make sense once you know.

You don't know Megaman, you don't know "The More You Know"... you're either very young or very old, and in either case you've squandered your pop culture/internet education. Get hip, daddy-o!

Wait...wait.....I'm not old yet..I have explaynayshions!

Megaman, from research, is like an anime thing......which I've never liked nor understood. So I have an excuse in this instance, I just don't 'do' jap games.

and this 'more you know' bizzo seems like a US thing...with your celebrity endorsements that you all seem so fond of.

See. I'm still hip and down with the kids....honest I am. dukka dukka dukka dukka hey marcarena!

No. Megaman is an 8-bit NES thing and is fantoustic.

  • FantasyrogueFantasyrogue Registered User regular
Man I never owned a NES as a kid and even I know who Megaman is. Not only did you apparantly miss the NES game, and his endless games since then. You also missed out on the Captain N cartoon which he starred in (this is not necessarily a good thing, mind). I pity your youth!

On topic. The comic's great, as usual. Though I also had some trouble reading the "the more you know" star bit.

  • MustangMustang Registered User regular
Pah! I pre-date your megaman, I grew up on hanna-barbara cartoons, which everyone (over 30) acknowledges are the pinnacle of all of mans creations. Pfft! kids these days, no in my day we didn't have 8-bits, we had half a bit and we were grateful for it.

Pfft that shit's just as shitty as anime, animation wise.

There's some interesting character and background design, but animation? Nnghh. As for on-topic, Squid & Spex know exactly what I think of their comics.

Animation wise, I agree, but for childhood memories, they're the shit.

EDIT: I seem to be developing quite a knack for dragging shit totally off-topic. Someone really does need to give me a spanking.

Oh don't worry I give up, I having trouble seeing straight at the moment, let alone arguing the finer points of camp 70's animation.........lack of sleep by the way, not drugs....I think I may be developing a powerful case of insomnia.
