Norman really doesn't care about Harry at all, so I'll be surprised to see more than a mention of the relationship in Thunderbolts.
The reason Norman returned to the states in the first place is that he wanted to get revenge on Peter for "killing" Harry. If Harry never died...

Norman Osborne is fucking batshit. I'm sure they can figure out another reason for him to have come back.

Or better yet, have him being so nutty that the magic didn't work for him, only for everyone to just ignore him when he starts claiming Harry's supposed to be dead.

Jesus christ you guys, we didn't even make it two pages.

Can we at least wait until the first issue of BND comes out before we start bitching in this thread too? OMD is the story that brought Harry back, so yes that is the story that fucks with Thunderbolts. That thread has been more discussing the fallout of the story than the story itself anyway.

and Sax, Norman's history has been screwed since he came back to life, it's just screwed up more now.

It'd be cool if he also remembered that Parker was Spider-Man. Especially since Parker may not (or may, because fuck continuity) know that he knows, or maybe Parker forgets that Osborn is the Green Goblin.

It's going to be interesting to see how bad of a fuckup continuity is going to be for OND and forward. Give it a year and you're like to have contradiction upon contradiction of what actually changed and what didn't considering the approach editorial seems to have taken to the whole thing.

Especially since changes like this have been vague in the past. See:No More Mutants and SHRA

I remember reading the story were they broke up.

I want to say it was in X-men Unlimited but that doesn't really make sense.

Well in the letters section from this weeks Thunderbolts, Ellis said Parker will be involved in TB at some point in 2008.

I wonder if it'll be a focus on Venom, or a focus on Osborn.

He mentioned Norman specifically, but that doesn't rule out Venom involvement.

Ellis ain't gonna be on the book forever. It does seem to be leading up to some sort of Spidey vs. Thunderbolts (or Green Goblin, at least) conclusion.

It never crossed my mind until now and it's probably been mentioned but what happens to the Peter Parker clones in Avengers - The Initiative after this? Each of them have Parkers DNA, look like him and the whole deal.

    Uh.

Nope, they are clones of MVP. The perfect human specimen who was killed in The Initiative #1.

    No Parker DNA here, sorry.

    You sure of that?

I was under the impression they were more clones of Parker since Iron Man was able to get everything from him when Parker used the Iron Spider costume. It makes more sense for Parkers clones to be in the suits than MVP ones, the clones did appear pretty darn quick after MVP was killed, can they be cloned that fast.

Those aren't Parker clones. They're MVP clones. They just lied to cover for him.

So, idle curiosity, but how exactly will this Amazing Spider-Man shipping 3 times a month thing work? Will it basically be 3 separate story lines each shipping once a month (basically 3 lines under the same title) or will the people work in shifts to crank out 3 parts of their storylines a month then trade off?

Each team does a three issue arc and passes off to the next team

The first two teams are Slott/McNiven then Gale/Jimenez

they say they will be switching it up though so the same writers/artists aren't always on the same month. Also supposedly JRJR will be coming back to do some ASM work towards the end of 2008

I would think he would do better on a somewhat light-hearted book rather than the gritty as shit Daredevil.

Okay guys, I got the first BND issue in the mail today. I liked it. It definitely had that old Spidey feeling, and Slott was hitting on all cylinders. In addition, it's a double size issue, so there were some short backups by all of the creative teams. All of the backups were good and clearly setups for the future story lines. Overall, I'm satisfied and can put OMD behind me.

    Also, KVW's spoilers are correct.

When he dies, I hope they write "Worst Affirmative Action Hire, EVER" on his grave. His corpse should be trolled.

Why should I care about this story? They are just going to retcon this retcon away eventually. It's ultimately not going to matter.

Why should you read any monthly comic?

    Because it's a good story.

You may as well stop reading comics then if thats enough to make you not want to read an otherwise good story

No, I'm asking why I should care about this story, specifically. Why shouldn't I just wait a few years for this to all blow over instead?

you can say that about any ongoing comic book

you should care because it's good

I dont understand what the confusion is.

If it's a good story does it really matter if 10 years from now it no longer "counts".

The story will still be there in those issues. retcons don't erase pages from your collection

Well the early reviews from people in this thread who have read it have been positive.

I havent read it yet so I can't say for sure now.

But you were asking why you should care

If it's good, I dont see why you need another reason.

Good writer, good artist. It will probably be a pretty good comic.
