Hello folks,
You may know me from
G&T's Secret Santa thread - I painted ICO artwork for LewiePs Santee, and a few people have asked me to paint stuff for them, I've agreed to do so, for donations to Oxfam Unwrapped (plus postage and materials).
I've started the first one, for Jam Warrior, ICO again, and decided to post in progress pics. Feedback very welcome, cos I can always improve!

Where the hell did this $300+ estimate come from? I never got that impression.
As far as I am aware, the deal is "Pay costs, and then spend whatever you can afford/want to at Oxfam Unwrapped"
Her exact wording -
Unless she has said something else in emails, this should still be the case.
Same here, if the Wii version reviews well I will probably pick it up, if not, I will get the PS2 version on the cheap.
Ack, sorry guys, I took gilrain's comment as fact. My bad. However, I will be watching this thread, I really do enjoy this.
Oxfam Unwrapped
(OK, attempt no. 2 to do hyperlink, probably got it wrong)
and buy something from there for someone who needs stuff more than me!!!! Honestly, you should see the amount of stuff we have, its ridiculous.
Each pic will work out at about £10/$20 for materials, postage depends on where you live, I'll check when i've finished each pic.
Thank you for all your appreciative comments, I'm so happy you like what I'm doing, I really enjoy painting. I'm definitely going to have to track down Sue Yarker (my art teacher who said I was no good), just to say yah, boo, sucks, or some such thing.

2009 is a year of Updates - one every Monday. Hopefully. xx
Also, I'm finding it impossible to load pics of progress onto imageshack - it keeps timing out, anyone have any sugestions? - that aren't complicated as lewiep is back at uni. Thanks folks.

It's a bit of a roundabout solution, but to avoid any hassle on your part, you could email them to someone like myself and then I could post them for you. But it'd be nice for you if you could post the images along with some text, I'd imagine, so it's not a perfect solution by any means.
It might just be a temporary problem with Imageshack. Maybe try again later and see if the problem persists.

I only just got in from a nightclub, you should have been in bed for ages.
Still can't sort out image shack, but I have been to bed. I'll try later.

If you want to email me either the images you are struggling to upload, or email me about the problem you are having I'll try and sort it out.
I've no idea why its so big, I'll try another link

And a bonus is you get to see a bit of our fireplace.
I've got a couple of more pics without flash - it distorts the colours a bit - well, I would have if I could find the thingy whatsit to plug my phone into my PC. I'll have to use the proper camera again, this may take some time, so I'll just post this for now and see how long it will take me to upload/host (?) more pics. Lewiep, come home soon, this is hard!

Anyway, this picture is nearly finished, I know there's something missing ...
maybe I'll remember soon ...
Same picture, slightly different lighting:
Hmm, still something missing ...
wait a minute, its ICO and the girl, silly me, I'd better finish it off, probably tomorrow.
Jam Warrior, pm me your address and I'll check out postage costs.
Looks like the SOTC awaits.

Right now, the two images are Okami, though I'm considering something from Zelda as well, though I haven't found something quite as good.
Here are the two Okami pictures:
and
Right now I'm leaning towards the first one, though it's obviously a very complicated painting, and I don't want to take advantage of LewieP's Mum's generosity here.
I'm also considering taking some Zelda sample images and just letting her do whatever she wants with them to suprise me.
Personally I think a painting from Wind Waker would be much better. Brighter and pleasing to the eye.

Are there any restrictions on requests?
Wow.
Have you two met? Jaw, Floor. Floor, Jaw.
SteamID - Fig-D :: Xbox Live - Fig D :: PSN - Fig-D
On request restrictions, I won't paint gory, nasty, violent or exploitative pics, only pretty ones. I'm a wimp, I shut my eyes through Spiderman, I was scared, and missed most of Lord of the Rings 2, I was so scared. Lewiep had to hold my hand through both, and I have a cushion to hide behind when I watch Dr Who, and even then get very stressed. I had to stop watching X Files cos I had bad dreams!
The only other limits are my skills and time - I aim to do 1 pic per month, list has reached July so far, if I can do more, I will, but I have to go to work as well. Also, I'm going to Glasto in June, volunteering for Oxfam, so am aiming to get June's pic done early.
I expect to start SOTC next week for Centipeed

Can't wait to see the SOTC shots.
And again
I'll be posting this off to him some time this week, and will be starting on SOTC for Centipeed next week.
Just to remind you about costs, this came to just under £10 to make, but I don't yet know postage/packing costs. I'll post that price as soon as I have it, so you will be able to work out postage for yourselves. It weight about 2 1/2 pounds.

Wow. Actually being the focal point of something like this and not just being a spectator is pretty awesome. I understand the excitement other people feel in moments like these, now. I'm firmly among the group of people who have said "I can wait to see how it turns out" at one point or another.
I tried to upload the pencil drawing first, but it didn't show up very well, so what you've got is:-
The sky done:-
The start of the buildings on the left and the sun ray shining over the colossus's legs:-
more of the buildings done and the corner where the horse and rider are:-
I've also done some close-ups of various bits:-
The bit of the rider and horse
The buildings:-
and the Collossus's hand:-
I might get some more done tomorrow, as apparently Man U are playing in some competition at 2:00 pm, yawn ...
