Hey guys just a quick note: I've read A-LOT of posts on several websites and can't figure out the problem!
Specs: AMD Athlon X2 64 4400+ (2.3ghz)
3.5 DDR2 gigs of ram
Rocketfish 700w PSU (please look at this, this might be the problem.)
EVGA 8800 GTS 640mb SSC
The games i usually play are HL2/TF2/source based games. I'm currently getting anywhere from 40-55fps in idle around people without them moving, and around 20-25 fps with explosions and fire/shooting. This isn't what i got the card for. I upgraded my old PSU and my old 8600 GTS, and my fps is still the same! I'm wondering if i'm bottlenecking my GPU with my CPU, but i doubt it due to other posts i've read with people with 5000+s and even 6000+s! I've been told i should be getting around 70-100 fps even in battle, and even when i change AA & AF to zero, it makes no difference.
I currently run games at 1440x900, settings high (not very high) no v-sync.
Please PLEASE help me i've tried almost everything! Downloaded new drivers, tried omega drivers, tried downloading the duel processor software off of AMD.
If anyone can help me it would be GREATLY appreciated. I don't even care what i hear, I just need answers. Even if it means buying a new PSU (which i just did) or getting a better CPU.
