Sure, SE++ has a robust movie thread, but fuck 'em. D&D has a crippled one!
Movies for February 2008
February 1:
The Eye (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Didn't I go over this last month? No more American remakes of Asian horror films.
Strange Wilderness (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
The commercials for this kills me because they contain two of my favorite things; Steve Zahn and Edgar Winter's 'Frankenstein'. Come on Steve, what are you doing to me? You were in
Rescue Dawn. That should have gotten you better work. And that fat wiener that was in
Superbad looks like the unfunniest character addition to a movie in the last five years (totally arbitrary time period, pulled it right out of my ass).
Over Her Dead Body (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Despite the movie title, I don't think Eva Longoria actually dies. Though I'm pretty sure there will be some intense and instant chemistry between her and Paul Rudd. It can't fail.
Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour (
imdb,
wiki)
'Achy Breaky Heart' continues to haunt us.
Caramel [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Lebanon's candidate for the Best Foreign Language Oscar this year.
Trailer Park Boys: The Movie [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
This was released in Canada in late 2006. Like maple syrup, it slowly drips down into the States.
February 8:
Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland [limited] (
imdb,
apple trailer)
Also being advertised as
Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show because...Vince Vaughn really knows how to pick funny stand up comedians?
In Bruges [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Spiral [LA] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Fool's Gold (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
I thought this filth came out last month. Guess I was wrong.
The Band's Visit [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
About an orchestra composed of Egyptian policemen who get lost in Israel.
The Hottie and the Nottie (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Paris Hilton continues to have a movie career.
February 14:
The Spiderwick Chronicles (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Jumper (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
A movie called
Jumper that stars Hayden Christensen and Sam Jackson. Will there be lightsabers?
February 15:
Definitely, Maybe (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Step Up 2 the Streets (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
What happened to the good old days when people would resolve their problems and frustrations through murder?
Diary of the Dead [limited] (
imdb,
wiki)
New George Romero movie. This time it sounds like a bunch of film students get the bite. Quid should be pleased with that.
February 22:
Vantage Point (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Multiple perspectives. They probably weave in and out of each other as well.
Charlie Bartlett (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
It has Robert Downey, Jr. in it.
Be Kind Rewind (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Michel Gondry has a way of making things cool, and Mos Def <3
Witless Protection (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Here are a few of the people in this movie:
-Larry the Cable Guy
-Jenny McCarthy
-Lisa Lampanelli
-Eric Roberts
The Signal [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
It looks like there is potential in this one. Not sure why.
Possession [limited] (
imdb,
wiki)
Has Sarah Michelle Gellar had any significant work since
Buffy went off the air?
February 29:
The Other Boleyn Girl (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Natalie Portman, Scarlett Johansson, and Eric Bana? Sounds like a hell of a threesome.
Semi-Pro (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Will Ferrell pretends to be a 70s basketball player with big hair in this movie.
Chicago 10 [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Well now, this sounds possibly interesting. "Archival footage, animation, and music are used to look back at the group of anti-war protesters who were put on trial following the 1968 Democratic National Convention."
Penelope [limited] (
imdb,
wiki,
apple trailer)
Christina Ricci and Peter Dinklage are a couple of the people that show up here. Something bizarre about Ricci's character being born with a snout and always wearing a scarf.
City of Men [limited] (
imdb,
apple trailer)
I'm not sure what to get out of this one. It's a spinoff of a
TV show that came out of
City of God.

I'll probably make an effort to see
Be Kind Rewind. And
There Will Be Blood has finally started playing at a nearby theater, so I'll check that out from last month. That's probably it. The winter movie dumping ground continues.
What will you be watching, exciting, sexy, young individual with expendable income?
Posts
so anyway, that's why steve zahn is still in a movie like that after rescue dawn from what I can tell.
And we're not talking burning interest, here.
It seems like 2008 is already shaping up to be a good movie year. Last month we had Cloverfield and Rambo, now we have Be Kind Rewind and Jumper. And then in summer we get The Dark Knight.
Rescue Dawn was shot in 2006. Ugh, these movies were shot in the same year.
Science of Sleep was alright, but I think Gondry was just trying to redo Eternal Sunshine on his own terms, which wasn't a smart thing to do.
I'm actually kinda excited for In Bruges, for no reason apart from the trailers look fun. And I love Ralph Fiennes.
no clue why this was not released yet.
Waitin for the crap movie season to release the crap?
Bah.

Hey cel, assuming you read this, David Gordon Green's new film comes out next month. Glee!
Though the premise leaves much to be desired Jumper has some pretty slick action. Plus it has Samuel L. Jackson, how can you go wrong?
Samuel L. Jackson can't save all movies. Take Jurassic Park for instance.
LIES, DIRTY LIES
...although after watching the trailer, I wonder how it's going to fare, coming so soon after Cloverfield.
I may seem some others is people pay for my ticket, but otherwise I'll wait until they hit the premium movie channels.

No worries already at work on the exotic oil blog
That being said, I will be seeing The Eye on Sunday and I shall let you fine folks know how it went. It is already getting higher-than-average reviews (for a horror) on Rotten Tomatoes, and Alba learned braille while she was getting into the part. She may not be the best actress, but she has heart. Also, the original Eye is really awesome and I want to see how it translates.
The other movies to look forward to are DotD (wont come anywhere near me) Jumper, The Signal (Nowhere near again) and Be Kind Rewind.
I look forward to The Eye the most this month, as much as that will disappoint everyone.
Sexy places.
If faith is just a silent tribute, mine is just a desperate act.
I'm looking forward to Jumper. It looks like a solid time waster.
I will need to go see Diary of the Dead.
I imagine I'll make Jumper a rental or catch it at the cheap theater.
Magic Online - Bertro
HE FELT JURASSIC PARK WAS A VERY ENTERTAINING MOVIE.
