There IS a correlation between crits and performance, however.

Trust me, my weapons don't crit for shit.

The only correlation is that you get a short-term critrate boost after two consecutive kills, IIRC. So it's like 25% instead of 5%. But it's still random, and I don't like the idea of me being punished because this guy went on a killing spree against my teammates earlier.

I like crits, but I think they would be better if they didn't seem to increase the aoe of the effect and didn't do full damage at long range for shotgun type weapons. (I hear they do that anyways)

Crit meter is still a neat idea either way you swing in the debate. Less crits flying around, but also less wasted crits. How I react to crits (incoming or outgoing) as they are now is pretty much dependent on my mood. Sometimes I RAGE, sometimes just :|

I wouldn't mind making the whole crit "streak" thing more visible to players.

    I'd also like crit heals.

    There are crit heals.
Then I want a nice noise and a CRITICAL HEAL sign above my target's head with hearts and flowers.

What, nobody mentioned this part of the update?

I think this is the first time in months that a spy related update is actually beneficial to spies.

It doesn't actually help them at all though besides points, Engineers just can't be douchebags anymore.

No matter how small the benefit, it's still a monumental occasion.

  • I just recently watched two TF2 videos, how to play the Medic and Sniper. My best and worst classes, respectively.
    News to me:

Did you know that older wounds take longer to heal than fresh ones? I've wondered what the deal was, but now that I think about it, I think thats true. There are times I can get a heavy from half to overhealed very quickly, and other times where it takes a while to overheal a scout.

Some simple math I that surprised me. Fully charged shot = 150 damage. Shot to the head = 3x damage. Fully charged shot to the head = 450. This number is currently the health of an overhealed heavy. With my new Medigun, however, I can give Heavies 600 health.

So... I get more toys, Heavies will love me even more, and Snipers cannot instakill Heavies? I love this patch. However, this may backfire, and they'll change the damage a Sniper can do. In which case, I will hate snipers even more. And I hate them alot now.

They might not even patch the snoipa' gun, but just give them a new one along with the new medic toys.

The libertarian response to anything is, "Sure, that works fine in practice, but it doesn't fly in theory."

Yeah. They were decent, but not as good as the Scout/Pyro/Spy/Heavy ones. Those four go beyond the basic, obvious stuff. The Medic/Sniper didn't really.

From what I understand, the sniper's fully charged headshot is like the spy's backstab, and so it effectively does infinite damage, that extra health isn't gonna save you.

no it has a set amount of damage. just by getting top damage in a life, you can tell. for me its 3800 damage with the sniper. thats not infinite.
