Breaking Bad

Breaking Bad is a really fucking great show. Everybody that loves good TV should watch it.

"A drama about a high school chemistry teacher who's suffering from the world's worst case of mid-life crisis and becomes a criminal."

The 4th episode just came out, and I shall watch it later tonight.

It's probably some of the best drama I've seen on TV, along with Six Feet Under. It's sad, it's pessimistic, but it's also funny in really dark ways.

Anyway, let's talk about this awesome show.

Why is that guy always naked or close to it? At least I think that is the guy who played the dad in Malcom in the Middle. I should look into it, that guy was cool.

Janson, you can see the first three episodes on the AMC website.

It really is the best new show on television, by a very, very wide margin.

You are in for a treat.

The opening scene of the pilot is one of the strongest hooks I've ever seen from a TV show. That whole first episode is amazing. The second is a solid follow-up, and then the third is what's likely to keep you watching forever.

Man, I love this show. Even talking about it is getting me all amped.

First two (I thought it was three, but checking corrected me) episodes are on the AMC website, here: http://link.brightcove.com/services/link/bcpid1336690183/bclid1341017816/bctid1400565057

If you can watch up through the opening credits on that first episode and not be sold, I will be shocked.

But the only ones of those that are airing now are The Wire, adult swim, The Daily Show, and The Colbert Report.

And they don't air the same time Breaking Bad does.

Yeah, he played that pitch-perfect. It's not "I'm a badass now." It's "I'm dead in a year, so I'll be god damned if I'm putting up with anybody's shit."

This show is so so so so so great. Bryan Cranston's performance is fucking inspired.

And as an aside, folks with Comcast HD receivers can watch this in HD-on-Demand, which is outstanding since--at least in Seattle--AMC has no dedicated HD channel.
