I waited until the format war was over and was going to head out and buy a PS3 this week, but I may wait for this bundle instead. I was never a big fan of the XBOX 360, all the "exclusive" games get PC releases anyway.

EDIT: That said, the Gears of War port was a huge clusterfuck.

Honestly, I think MGS4 is going to be the Ocarina of Time for the PS3. It'll be really great, critics and fans will go nuts for it, but it won't make Sony's console number one. Still, bundling it with the system is nice, and makes the half a grand pricetag easier to swallow. If it also has BC, then even better.

I know I didn't buy a PS2 until the GT3 bundle (well and my employer gave me $100 credit towards a current system..)

it also helps that the PS3 is currently a significantly more reliable system. their library (which has good games, but very few exclusives) is the biggest factor currently holding it back. customer perception is important in the console business, and MS certainly has not made it easy on themselves with the RROD problem. do i think it's as widespread as it is perceived to be? no. is it significantly more widespread than it should be? definitely.

however as long as both consoles pull in fairly good numbers, it is gamers who win as competition ensures both companies can't rest on their laurels.

Honestly I don't care how many units Sony sells or Nintendo or Microsoft for that matter... I don't own stock in any of them... my bank account doesn't get any bigger or smaller if they sell or don't sell X number of units. Neither does my dick.

If you're over the age of about 13 and/or don't frequent the GameFAQs forums there are certain things you just shouldn't get all worked up into a nerdrage over. Console "wars" are right at the fucking top of that list my friends...

Only thing about this I will say is that I have a beefy gaming PC that I like to keep up to date and it seems like all the good Xbox games come out for Windows eventually... so I stuck with the Playstation as a console. Plus I wanted a Blu-ray player... Honestly if I had more money and thought I would actually use it, I'd buy a 360 and a Wii too probably.
