    Veretas, what happened to you is called a "419 scam."

    I figure you might enjoy these stories of the same kind of scammer getting pwned like you wouldn't believe. Hope it eases the pain a bit. Look at the hall of shame and the trophy room.

    Last I read, the FBI was going to investigate why Veretas' mom can't use computers.

    i'm sorry about what happened, but it's pretty easy to look past scams, especially ones that promise so much money. it takes ten minutes of online research. so not to badmouth your mom, but...yeah.

    This is why it scares me when my grandparents use a computer. My mom's pretty computer illiterate but she wouldn't fall for displaced Persian princes trying to reclaim vast amounts of money by emailing a random person.
