    Okay...so I'm confused. I was in contact with two demons, Law and Toxic before I died. Both knew I was a demon. But when I asked them to vote for Gumpy, they both turned on me and voted for me.

    Either of you want to explain what you were thinking?

    Toxic seemed to feel that voting for me would somehow save him, though I couldn't see that at all at the time. Law... I have no idea what you were thinking, not only switching your vote to me but also asking people to bandwagon me when you knew I was on your team.

    What gives??

    Though I agree that starting off 4 out of 5 of the devil hunters with devil stars was slightly overpowered (taunt wasn't actually that useful, considering how cheap it was), there were quite a few villagers with crazy powers - El Skid's misdirect, Mr. D's power steal, and Trust & Last Son's item/power upgrades.

    Edit: And yeah, bandwagoning El Skid was silly.

    The order of actions was stupid, in retrospect. The vote should have gone first, if only to prevent FreeAgent from controlling the vote completely. I did not intend for that to happen.

    I have to say, congratulations to FreeAgent for managing to find as many ways as possible to beat my system. :P

    I didn't mind them starting off with Devil Stars. But the Golden Orb/Resurrection on Nero? That's like starting off with 9,000 Orbs right off the bat. Not to mention the frustration of Night 3.

    The village did have some nice and useful powers. I enjoyed my own Item Build ability. But the odds were totally against us. You don't think Taunt is that useful? Most of us didn't have the ability to kill or guard. So voting, in any Phalla, is a powerful tool. Every time a Devil Hunter voted, he effectively got rid of one of our votes, unless we decided to dump orbs into other abilities. Meanwhile, they were able to save up for the Ressurection Orb, or another Devil Star, so they dominated the vote as well as the rest of the village. Vergil had an even easier time.

    The angels were somewhat more balanced in comparison. The joint attack makes sense, in a way, though why have it only affect demons? This basically makes it easier for them to kill the village and Trish, giving the Devil Hunters another pass, essentially.

    ... there wasn't anything you were 'supposed to do'.

    If neither of you had killed each other, you would have been able to win with your group win condition.
    If both of you had killed each other at the same time, you both would have died (and chances are the devil hunters would have lost).
    If one of you killed the other, you got a 5000 red orb bonus for fulfilling you win condition. Of course, you didn't know that.

    Ah!

    That was what killed me, I made assumptions, which is my fault.

    When I saw two conditions for winning, I assumed that I needed to fulfill them both, I should have asked about that.

    And based on those assumptions, I constructed a false picture of the game and made silly decisions.

    That's me, always thinking too much yet not thinking enough.

    Oh ok, I must've skipped over that bit in his PM. Yeah I see your point now. The Mafia were pretty powerful in this game.

    Also it was kinda annoying that Maximus died the one night I changed my guard to someone else.

    edit: Burnage, I never did ask, but how exactly did I get that item on day 4? Did someone trade it to me or something?

    The majority of the devil hunters got pretty much the same number of red orbs as the villagers; as Stew_stick said, it was only because Gumpy was getting traded them by the rest of his team that he'd bought another res. orb. That was actually incredibly unlucky timing on the part of the village, as Gumpy had just bought it to res. Seriously.

    I'm still new to this whole running-Phalla thing, so obviously something that looks balanced on paper to me might not turn out to be so. If I were to re-run this, I'd definitely tweak the devil hunters and angels - like you said, make the angel group attack affect everyone, possibly get rid of Vergil (or put him on the demon side), and take a level or two of taunt away from the majority of hunters.

    Auto-res is okay in principle (I think of it like a guard that also outs the player in the narration), but no way should they be as available as they were in this game.

    I'm also never, ever using probability-based abilities and items again. Any shops I use in future will also be streamlined. Way too difficult to keep track of, and I apologise to all of those whose nightly PMs I messed up. It does give me a new, overly impressed view of Ardor and Drez for running Phallout, however.

    Stew - for the first two nights any players who died were turned into items and randomly distributed. Dante's item was Rebellion, and let you pick an individual win condition for yourself. I'm sad the two players that held it never used it, I wanted to see what it would come up with.

    I was actually having alot of fun with the game- my power was super fun, though I'd like to hear more about the mechanics of it.

    Every night I got to redirect all powers affecting me onto one other person, and I used it to get rid of B:L and Maximus. while saving myself, which was cool.

    Here's how I assumed my power worked: It was a defensive power, and so went in front of all offensive powers. It could be neutralized, but only if the person neutralizing it was as fast or faster than I was, as far as the quickness ability went. So someone would have to neutralize my powers and then have someone else off me. If the person doing the neutralizing was slower than I was, I "got my shields up" first, and the neutralization got redirected.

    I have nothing but speculation to base this off of, but I'm kinda curious how close I was to the truth.

    May I say it was a fun game. I must apologize to Burnage for being as inactive as I was.
    Burnage I liked it a lot, also I want to point out you didn't give me my random kil for the two enraged I killed, but it doesn't matter since the demons lost either way.

    Great game, it was a bit rough on my end to follow because of everything going on so I may have made it difficult for my fellow demons.

    Bullseye. Misdirect was defensive, so you could have been held then killed. Even unblockable kills were misdirected. Basically the only way to easily kill you was by vote, especially once you bought quicksilver.

    If Trust had upgraded you, you would have been a fucking monster. All actions would have been switched from the old target to two new targets.

    Mr. D - you did get the random kill, but I seem to remember it hit someone with a shield against all attacks or something. I didn't forget about it! I also didn't mind the inactivity, you were fine.

    The devil went down to Georgia. He was lookin' for a soul to steal. He was in a bind 'cause
    he was way behind, and he was willin' to make a deal, when he came across this young man
    sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot. And the devil jumped up on a hickory stump and said,
    "Boy, let me tell you what.

    I guess you didn't know it but I'm a fiddle player, too. And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll
    make a bet with you. Now, you play pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the devil his due. I'll bet
    a fiddle of gold against your soul, 'cause I think I'm better than you." The boy said, "My
    name's Johnny, and it might be a sin. But I'll take your bet, you're gonna regret, 'cause I'm
    the best that's ever been."

    Johnny, rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard, 'cause hell's broke loose in Georgia and
    the devil deals the cards. And if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold. But if you lose,
    the devil gets your soul.

    The devil opened up his case and he said, "I'll start this show." And fire flew from his fingertips
    as he rosined up his bow. And he pulled the bow across the strings and it made an evil hiss.
    Then a band of demons joined in and it sounded somethin' like this:

    When the devil finished, Johnny said, "Well, you're pretty good, old son, but sit down in that
    chair right there and let me show you how it's done.

    Fire on the mountain. Run, boys, run. The devil's in the House of the Rising Sun. Chicken in the
    bread pan pickin' out dough. Granny, does your dog bite? No, child, no.

    The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. And he laid that golden fiddle
    on the ground at Johnny's feet. Johnny said, "Devil, just come on back if you ever want to try
    again. 'Cause I told you once, you son of a BITCH, I'm the best that's ever been."

    If I wind up running a phalla again, I think I might try and integrate necro-posting into it. Why should the fun stop just because you're dead? :P

    Question; how successful was the whole cover-role thing? If somebody in the village had bought the demon codex and done a roster call, obviously they would have known something would be up with the scribbled-in names, so I guess that was a vague attempt at making a possible roster call a mechanic of the game.

    Definitely good times. I hadn't considered killing Dante would give me a massive amount of red orbs, just figured it would let me win. However, all of a sudden having 7000 orbs was pretty badass, as I immediately grabbed Dark Slayer.

    Which resulted in my Day 2 kill/ds kill/devil trigger. Plus, targeting the guy in the lead dropped the vote onto another unsuspecting villager. That was a delightful 4 kills.

    Fun game Burnage. Would play again :^:

    EDIT: Seriously, sorry about cutting out your heart on Day 1. I was a little confused when my role PM told me to kill Dante, and then told me who Dante was... But in my defense, I did bring you back tonight, since I though we would at least last 1 more night.

    I had envisioned a pretty badass back-to-back Vergil/Dante battle against Law and Shamus, but at least you were alive when we won.

    The rating and number of orbs you got each night.

    Dull = 1000
    Crazy = 1500
    Bravo = 2000
    Awesome = 2500
    Showtime = 3000
    SSmoking = 3500
    SSStylish = 4000 or above.

    The number of orbs you got each night was a base value of 1000, with whatever actions you performed adding more. Holding an inactive player might net you 500, but holding someone like FreeAgent might have net you an extra 1500, for example.

    I couldn't decide whether dying should mean Gumpy got 0 orbs that night, or being resurrected twice should net him a huge number. So, I flipped a coin for it.
