I am downloading a set of m4v files and want to make them into a DVD for a relative. I think I need to first convert the files from m4v to mp4 and then burn the mp4 files. Is this accurate, and if so can anybody recommend a free tool to convert the files without losing much quality? I'm on 32-bit Vista.
I was planning to use Windows DVD Maker for the final step. I've never used it before, so please let me know if that is a bad idea.
Edit: If someone has a good way to do this, I'd be interested to know as well. I've looked for a long time and haven't been able to come up with a solution to this.
Super is probably the best free multimedia converting tool I've found. You can convert the m4v files to something more useful then use Windows DVD maker to piece the DVD together. The only thing I don't like about Super is it converts straight to VOB without creating the IFO and BUP files needed for compliancy like other converting tools do.
