If you're getting the "A connection to the Steam VAC servers could not be made" error, try this:

Browse to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods\hidden and open gameinfo.txt. Where it says SteamAppID 220, change the number to 215. Restart Steam.

This fixed the problem for me.

Anyways, such a fun mod. My friends and I will come back to it every few months, and it's always a blast.

This game needs a serious gameplay balance and design overhaul to be fun. The novelty wears off after a day.

The camera mode is especially horrid, making waiting after death boring or irritating.

Anyway, I was playing tonight. Zot, like almost as soon as you left, I killed the Hidden and therefore became one. I made my first kill quick and easy. Pigstick'd a guy in the back. Then, I got caught by someone firing through a hole in the ceiling, fell down through it and started swinging wildly. I took Rust with me as I died.

until I started just taunting while behind people and got shot in the face like 50 times

I finally got around to trying to play this, and unsurprisingly, every time I try to join a server it says "Error verifying STEAM UserID ticket."

Garry's Mod does this too, as a matter of fact. Any suggestions? Team Fortress 2 still works just fine.

Tip for Hidden, and this may be pretty easy to figure out, but don't play like you're invisible. You aren't. Play like you're completely visible

I do remember one time I got up onto a very high rafter and froze there. Three guys walked below. The third one ended up splattered all over his team-mate's backs.

Exploiting one of the staple videogame rules ftw (the player never looks up unless prompted).

It's a scary thing to have the man next to you suddenly reduced to a juicy smear.

I love playing the Hidden, though, since on noluit's server alltalk is on and I can hear people freaking out over my wacky exploits.
