All you need is one bullet at that moment.
Sorry excuse my ignorance but can you explain this? Do you mean originally re4 was not going to be an RE game, and that it had ghosts instead, but then it was so good they made it the next RE game? is that right?
Thats kinda cool.
I liked the original series, loved how scarey they were and the atmosphere, but then I absolutely loved RE 4 as well, i think im on my 14th playthrough on pro. Both are great games, surely they can both get along, without having to crush eachother?
What happened was that Capcom wanted to do something new with RE4 and it went through several different prototypes. Four or five, I think it was.
One became Devil May Cry and one became part of the basis for Haunting Ground.
One did, in fact, have ghosts. But eventually they ended up with the RE4 we have now.
Edit: beat'd like a french nanny
That said, I like the direction they're going. Sure, I loved the formula they used in the old ones, and wouldn't mind to see it again. However, the action-oriented formula used in 4, with, perhaps, a bit more scare factor, would be amazing. All they're basically doing is attempting to scare you by different means.
I gotta say, I wanted this game so hard. I even made my web development final based on this prototype. I was so sad to see that the game never came to be.
...really?
well, i'll still let you in my treehouse, but you'll never be in charge of fun.
Well, I moreso wanted this game because it looked so goddamn creepy. Sure, I absolutely loved RE4 as it was released, however, a part of me is sad that the paranormal-esque RE4 will never see the light of day.
because the times you encounter the bastards they are never far away from you
so if you are using the bolt action lobotomiser you'll have to reload after every shot and by the time you have got to the last hotspot the bastard is wheezing on the end of your rifle and oh goddd help meeee
Edit: Unless you shot the legs first like an idiot.
Bolt action couldn't equip the infrared scope, you needed the automatic.
I already didn't like RE4, but everything about it is repulsive.
What the crap it just leaped onto my shoulderarghdafhdsg
My HS art collection
Agoaj is a big fat liar.
It works for both.
Oh and get the semi auto anyway, it's quite ace when fully upgraded.

No, that's horrible, please don't.
The fact that RE4 was action-y, was one of the main reasons I loved it. I certainly think it should be harder, and it's obvious they are trying to make it more scarier, which is a plus, but I don't want RE5 to be an upgraded form of the earlier games.
RE 4 was not scary , not even in the least . Ammo was plenty and Leon was a fucking god . Besides that glaring flaw it was one of the best games I have ever played.
So I propose a compromise.
Keep new game play but:
1)No random ammo
2)Tone down the upgrades the last upgrades broke the game and were pretty easy to get.
3) The knife stays the same , it was useless in RE classic .I like it now.
4)Tone down the action commands , we know Chris/Leon are badass but they are not super human. Leave that to HUNK and Wesker.
Yes! I'm so glad someone brought this up. The knife is actually functional in RE4. I would always reload a save game if I ran out of bullets in the previous games, but, even though it's not ideal to run out of bullets in RE4, it's manageable.
Also, I don't mind the upgrades. I have a save file that is my 3rd or 4th time through the game. It's awesome to have a shotgun that holds 100 shells. Although, I can certainly understand someone wanting to save the crazy upgrades for the 2nd or 3rd playthough.
Then when you go back to the room with the licker in it like 2 hours later, you forgot that you left him alive so when you enter the room you can hear him walking around...
Oh man I miss that.
For some reason, that post followed with your signature gif made laugh. A lot.
Maybe they will steal from Moby Dick.
"Call me Chris"
Albert Wesker vs. the White Tyrant.
Maybe someone should link to it.

Potato sack man is back!
And in the process made me look silly
If anything they have emphasised pretty much everything that people cited as reasons to accuse it of being racist, or 'edgy'.
I'm not ready to judge if I think it is racist, but I think it's probably not.
However, I'm not happy with the idea of being controversial just for the sake of it and/or to build hype, so it will take some convincing on Capcoms behalf to make me believe that the setting and thematic ideas going on are justified in the bigger picture, but so far they have the benefit of the doubt.
I certainly think saying "It's set in Africa. It's racist" is crazy, but by the same merit "It's just set in Africa. It can't possibly be racist" is just as crazy.
Theres nothing scarier than minorities... uh i mean zombies... i mean las plagas... you mean they're not plagas this time? what? I'm confused.
You live and you learn.
