Heh, I've yet to red vote somebody who died innocent. This leaves me rather inclined to return to my delroland vote.

Think somebody called you a he in this thread.

I don't know why I thought you were a girl to begin with. I guess someone must have called you a she.

Voting Trust is all very well and one I support, but can we get a back-up target too just in case?

Also, !MrBlarney for Admiral and !cheez for vice prez.

  • Last SonLast Son Registered User regular
I will vote Wildcat for 2nd place. Mainly because I'm pretty certain he is not a member of the network and I know from experience that telling the village they need a backup vote-person is one of the ways that badguys like to seem helpful.

I will also vote Last Son and Cheez for leadership.

Hey I've only done it once or twice. I've seen a lot of other badguys do it though and for some reason it often works.

That's fair enough, I'm just a bit surprised to see a vote come from basically nowhere.

Hmm, I feel like I need to give !delroland a little bump in the vote right now. A full switch to put him as first might not be a bad idea either.

    Huh.

Delroland, you were voting Trust before. He's like, 3 votes ahead of you.

Why would somebody facing a bandwagon take their vote off the current leader and put it on some guy with only one vote?

... Is Trust cleared of suspicion? Or no?

Regardless, Blarney wants del in the lead, so-
    Trust
    delroland
    Sabs
    cheez

I'm gonna go back and do another count in a sec. We're low enough on people, be careful about doing backup votes - you could potentially make the person win. cheez's prez vote especially.

A couple of mechanic issues I want to bring up before dancing the airlock jig:

    1) I've said it before, but giving inactives a default vote is stupid. It awards inactivity. If someone doesn't take any action, they shouldn't be allowed to affect the outcome of the game.

    2) I really did not like the whole mechanic of Martial Law, as I felt it was wholly abused all game long. If Martial Law is declared, it's supposed to prevent seerage, but it never did. Not once all game long. This was because all that needed to happen was for the admiral to wait until the seer result came back before actually declaring Martial Law. This I felt was a blatant abuse of the rules.

    Okay, epic reveal time:

Hanging out on the same ship with an outed bad guy does seem to lead to one inevitable conclusion.

I would forgive you, though, since I'd get to use my ghost avatar finally.

EDIT: That is, unless soldiers get some awesome Day 10 powers. Then you're getting grudged for eternity.

Hey, you started this. And I wasn't "outed"; it was just a lucky guess.

Well, Blarney backed your vote. I assume you were seered as evil. I think that counts as outed.

Either that, or Trust was seered as good and the process of elimination happened.

But if Trust seered as evil, why would Seriously draw major suspicion on himself to save him? Confusing stuff.

Seeing as you and Psycho are probably dead, I guess either Trust is good and Seriously is trying to make him look shady or there were 4 bad guys left, not 3.

Guess I'll speculate as much as I can while I'm still alive.

Day 10: The End of Destinies

    pikkugalaso1.jpg

"The Cylon fleet chased us relentlessly as we made our final frantic round of fake resupplying runs and pointless detours to conceal our true goal from them. We needed to shake them for long enough to jump to the border of the Hecatean Nebula. The Nebula would be difficult to navigate, but it'd be just as difficult for the Cylon, and the DRADIS interference would render them blind. We had sent Gambit to scout the Nebula earlier. He said we'd probably make it as long as we assigned Raptors to guide the civilian ships. And he had found something interesting. He said there was a planet with some kind of microbial goo covering most of the surface. Edible microbial goo, we hoped.

Things were looking just a bit brighter than before. There couldn't be many Cylon spies in the Fleet anymore. People were still frightened, but hopeful.

And then the Cylon fleet found us again."

    _____

PsychoCucumber, chief engineer of the Pegasus, stood in the reactor control room of the Phallastar. Something was wrong. He could feel it. Time was running out. He had worked so hard to create something beautiful and he wanted to be around to see his efforts pay off. But he knew better. He knew, like Plutonium had known, that his time in the Colonial Fleet was coming to an end.

But he had no intention to go peacefully.

A door opened. PsychoCucumber jumped to the side just in time to dodge a rain of bullets. He whirled around, gun in hand, determined to take his attacker out with him. But this one was no amateur, and his aim was deadly. PsychoCucumber barely caught a glimpse of his attacker before the last bullet of the burst hit him squarely in the forehead.

    _____

"What am I doing?" Trust said to himself aboard the shuttle to the Phallactica. "What have I done?"

He was sweating. His hands were shaking. Tears streamed down his face. The things he had done! How could he forgive himself? Could he... could he go back, still? Could he undo the horrors he had, in part, been responsible for ever since the attack on the Colonies? Could he find redemption?

And at that moment, a comforting thought occurred to him. He was going to become an important man. He would become the man who decided the destiny of mankind. Maybe he could do something good in that role? Maybe he could sway the minds of the Cylon, save what was left of humanity, maybe? Yes, yes, that was it! They might never understand, they might never forgive him, but he would be their savior!

And so he crossed his fingers and prayed to the one God. He would stay the course. What choice did he have?

"What choice do I have?" he whispered.

And then the pilot of the shuttle emerged from the cockpit and shot him in the heart.

    _____

Admiral MrBlarney and Seriously watched the execution of Lieutenant Delroland from a security monitor aboard the Phallactica. The Cylon walked into the airlock with his head held high, a smug little smile on his face.

"Death means nothing to us", Delroland was saying. "Our souls live on. You, on the other hand, are doomed."

MrBlarney snorted. He turned away from the monitor.

"Arkas was found dead today. She was a great soldier who fought bravely in the Cylon War. I hope that's the Cylon who killed her. I hope that's the last of them."

"I just hope justice is done", Seriously said.

"What do you make of all this, Captain?" MrBlarney asked, wincing at the pain of recent burns on his face. "The hate the Cylon feel for us. The sudden turn in our luck. What does it all mean?"

"I think", Seriously said, "that we all get what we deserve, in the end."

And with that, he grabbed Admiral MrBlarney's gun and shot him with it.

    _____
