free refills (which seems to be the norm more and more)
Man, where are you dining?! :P
Naw, he's right. Obviously not wrt wine or other alcohol, but around here the only place I can think of anymore, from crappy chains to several hundred dollar a person class joints, that doesn't offer free refills is this family owned chinese place, and those dudes are tight as fuck about diming people.
So much of my experience working at California Pizza Kitchen was fighting with the Expo (Food Expediter) to get the food cooked properly/according to the ticket. I could have been the best server any of my customers ever had but my timing may have seemed poor because I'm engaged in an eternal battle with the Expo.

Lots of different places. Cheap chains, finer dining, and, rarely, really nice dining. Pretty much everywhere but fast food and mom'n'pops'.
[Edit]
The quality of the fountain soda is just the same as any I've had anywhere else, bottled or canned even. Sometimes it seemed watered down, but that's due to their mix being off, and most are right quick to fix it.
I think being a waiter in NYC colours your judgement a bit, Podly.
Seems kinda campy, to me. Plus, they're most likely hella watered down.
There's like a 1000x markup on a "normally watered" restaurant soft-drink to begin with, so I kind of doubt they're watering it down much to eke out that extra third of a cent on their $3 profit.
Now to go the last group meeting of the semester, get what I need for the hair bleaching, drive home, and watch television.
Later.

My dumb as fuck creationist high school Biology/Anatomy & physiology teacher believed that fast food places salted their drinks to get you to drink more and this is how they "got you". This theory overlooks the fact that nearly all fast food chains offer free refills.

Maybe he's a waiter at a Chinese place. I'd like some Seven Lucky Delights of Podly

I've never seen free refills at any restaurant I've been to in the Northeast. It's pretty much reserved for places like Applebee's and fast food.

The Zero Punctuation thread over in G&T is a bad thread because the past three or four pages have been almost exclusively about how bad of a thread it is.

It's an awesome thread every Wednesday, just to see how bad it gets.
Now I have to find my tuner cause I suck at tuning guitars.

Why do people not watch National Geographic, seriously? Everyone watches Discovery, and NG is basically Discovery at a lower voltage.
Right now they're talking about that one road in Bolivia that scares the shit out of you just looking at it. In an hour, CIA experiments where they drugged people for 77 days straight. And nobody watches.

I have a new soccer blog The Minnow Tank. Reading it psychically kicks Sepp Blatter in the bean bag.

I generally like GnT but sometimes they have threads there that make me want to nuke it from orbit. The Zero Punctuation thread is one of those, made worse because the same general retarded arguments are recycled every Wednesday in some sort of Sisyphean cycle made of fanboyism and human suffering.
Sometimes I think a bit too much about what happens after the movie is over. I'm watching 28 Weeks Later now, and started thinking about what the depopulation of Britain would mean for global economy. :P

They're pretty common here as well except at Asian restaurants. Damn stingy Asians.

I have a love hate relationship with it. Actually going isn't that enjoyable, but there are generally cute boys and I like how I feel afterwards.
