Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
It's the first of May! That means, in addition to outdoor fucking starting today, it's the real Labour Day (that september shit is a sham).
Today is the annual day in which workers from around the world stand in solidarity with one another to petition for their collective rights and to stand in remembrance of the Haymarket Massacre which occurred on May 4th 1886.
Your fuckin' family's dug into the Southie projects like ticks. You, however, grew up on the North Shore, huh? Well, la-di-fuckin'-da. You were kind of a double kid, I bet, right? Huh? One kid with your old man, one kid with your mother. You're upper-middle class during the weeks, then you're droppin' your "R"s and you're hangin' in the big, bad Southie projects with your daddy on the weekends. I got that right?
I remember this badass hat that my Dad had, from his union. It said "AWPPW: Strike Force", and it had like fucking flames on it or somesuch.
As a kid, I knew that when he busted it out, it meant that we were in for lean times. But I also knew I'd get to see my Dad standing up for something, and that was even cooler than getting Transformers or He-Man toys.

Actually Callius, today is
LAW DAY
Law Day, U.S.A., 2008
A Proclamation by the President of the United States of America
RSS Feed White House News
The right of ordinary men and women to determine their own future, protected by the rule of law, lies at the heart of America's founding principles. As our country celebrates the 50th anniversary of Law Day, we renew our commitment to the ideals on which this great Nation was established and to a robust system of ordered liberty.
The American legal system is central to protecting the rights and freedoms our Nation holds dear. The theme of this year's Law Day, "The Rule of Law: Foundation for Communities of Opportunity and Equity," recognizes the fundamental role that the rule of law plays in preserving liberty in our Nation and in all free societies. We pay tribute to the men and women in America's legal community. Through hard work and dedication to the rule of law, members of the judiciary and the legal profession help secure the rights of individuals, bring justice to our communities, and reinforce the proud traditions that make America a beacon of light for the world.
Nearly 800 years ago, the Magna Carta placed the authority of government under the rule of law; centuries later, the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution marked tremendous advances in the march of liberty. These documents established enduring principles that guide modern democracies. Today, we are reminded of that past and look toward a hopeful future as we work to secure the liberty that is the natural right of every man, woman, and child.
On Law Day, U.S.A., our Nation celebrates our belief in the equality of each person before God and renews our commitment to strive to bring America ever closer to its founding ideals.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, in accordance with Public Law 87-20, as amended, do hereby proclaim May 1, 2008, as Law Day, U.S.A. I call upon all the people of the United States to observe this day with appropriate ceremonies and activities. I also call upon Government officials to display the flag of the United States in support of this national observance.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand eight, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-second.
That statement is rich coming from the guy who all but pardoned Scooter Libby.
PS: Magna Carta was ratified in June, the Declaration of Independence in July and the Constitution was adopted in September. It makes perfect sense that we should celebrate all of these documents on May Day; a day which was already dedicated to the Worker's and Haymarket...
Wanna go ride around on a vespa and talk about how much ATMs are killing the bankers union?
I swear to god, I think you wake up every day and pray.
"Dear God, thank you for the fortune you've graced me with and the talents you've given me. Please help me follow your divine light, to find a way to be an even bigger faggot than yesterday, when I was a bigger faggot than the day before, and so on and so forth."

I swear to Satan, I think you wake up every day and pray.

Eisenhower created Law Day in the late 50's because May Day was thought of as a commie day. It has been a holiday since the 60's and the president is just required to issue a proclamation about it or something.

The best one is of Lenin in the box podium, leaning to the left, and Stalin is on the right, in his marshal uniform.

Did this come out of left field or was there a warning beforehand?
Is there a chance he might just start making a new holiday every day until his term ends?
That's it, I'm breaking laws today dammit.
