Howl's moving castle guys
Wikipedia wrote:
The film starts off with the protagonist of Howl’s Moving Castle, Sophie, a timid and unsure 18-year-old girl who works in her late father's hat shop. She has a chance encounter with the mysterious wizard Howl Pendragon, who rescues her from some menacing soldiers. However, by doing so she is then visited by the Witch of the Waste who puts a curse on her, transforming her into a 90-year old woman. Unable to tell anyone of the curse, she sets off on her journey to the Waste, to beg Howl to lift the curse. On the way she meets a magically animated scarecrow whom she names Turnip Head. Together they find Howl's moving castle.

these are some other dudes in the movie, the scarecrow, known as turnip head is pretty awesome

i love Calcipher, the little fire demon

it is also a book! i just read the book last night

it was pretty awesome, really reads like a fairy tale, and has a totally different mood and story than the film, while still seeming to movie in the same general direction, its not very long, and i think it was rather entertaining.

the first time i saw Howl's moving castle, i caught it midway through the film. i was so confused.

i got to see it again later from the start. that didn't help.

it's an amazing film all the same, Miyazaki's stuff is always good.

What's the next film out after this? I head that Earthsea wasn't up Ghibli's usual standards.

Also it is the wrong Miyazaki (unless you meant next Studio Ghibli movie and not next Miyazaki movie).

the detail and attention put into the animation is simply stunning, they don't waste frames, or do anything by halves

I liked this and Mononoke, though.

What else has this dude done?

    Um...

Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind

    Laputaa

    My Neighbour Totoro

    and Porco Rosso

I think those were the major Miyazaki ones

The same thing happened to me with Spirited Away

I mean I got the basic premise of the film, but then something new would happen (people were pigs I guess, then they weren't, and someone turned into a dragon and was bad at first but then fought something else I guess) and I would be all 'wat'

the book really was fantastic, an excellent children's book. i read it all last night and really enjoyed it. it was interesting and fun to see more development into the characters, and to see exactly how they were changed for the movie. Such as Michael, he is a completely different character, other than being howl's apprentice

I love Miyazaki films. The first one I saw was Mononoke. I loved Howl's Movind Castle. Spirited Away was good so I don't know why everybody seems to hate it.

The movie is so good because you're cheering Totoro and Satsuki on and everything but it's not like there's really a bad guy or any real danger, it's just because Totoro is great.
