TV Tropes and Interesting 8 Phallas starting this weekend, and I've got to start AL•PHA•LLA Royale... man, why did all this have to happen at once?
Hey all, I wanted to change the theme of my upcoming Phalla from "Master and Commander" to "Six String Samurai". Is this post sufficient, or should I PM someone?

Hello, hello. Most of the spots for the final AL•PHA•LLA game have filled up, but there is the chance of a few spots that won't be filled by people who I've already sent messages to. If you're interested in playing in a new version of the Royale games, send me a PM with the subject title "[AL•PHA•LLA] Game 5 Sign-up", and I'll put you on a reserve list; if there are still spots open when the game starts, you'll be able to get a spot. I just need a few people just in case, and there's no guarantee of participation, but if you're interested, let me know.
EDIT: Oh, right - since this might be pertinent information, the game starts late tomorrow night (Monday, PDT).

I had an idea about a Phalla I would like to host in Debate and Discourse, mostly centered around the 2008 election.
The idea I had was this: it'd be like a normal game of Phalla, except instead of "bad" vs. "good" it'd be the Republicans v. the Democrats, natch.
How it would work was this:
Instead of a bad team and a good team, each team would have two "leaders" in them. The "leaders" would be, of course, the presidential and vice-presidential running mates for the election. Players with special abilities would be high-ranking GOP and Democratic leaders (Hillary Clinton, Mitt Romney, etc). The goal of the game would be to find the two leaders of the other party and kill them. Perhaps implementing a "Congress" which could overturn the people's vote for whom to kill. If, after the designated two weeks or whatever neither side's leaders are exterminated then have a "general election" in which everyone votes for whichever character they want elected.
Also, I'd implement a "Independent" and "Undecided" party, and add a mechanic of recruiting these people to fight on your side in the game. The breakdown I was hoping for for the Reps/Dems/Indies would be 45%/45%/10%.
Does this sound like fun?

The way you describe it makes it sound like it could potentially be a one or two night game - if each side has a vigilante, and their objective is to kill two leaders from the other side, then if the vote and the vig hit accurately it's a one-night KO.
Near-even factions are difficult to do; the Transformers game was a good example of that. If one side gets even a slight advantage then it's game over.
There needs to be some law about time zones for phallas, Grumpys started at 6:00 Am oz time O well Probably for the best that i died off day one.
Whereas I'm loving all this GMT+1 Phalla as usually the closes at about 4am in the morning UK time. When a lot happens in the last couple of hours before the vote I end up missing it.
Essentially, you're getting what the European people have with the US time-zone based Phallas.

How does revenge taste America? Is it delicious?
America doesn't get it as bad as the UK, it's shifted the wrong way so at least it's during the day.
Australia however gets fucked over like you always do now!
I don't mind helping out either way, since I've managed to luck out in terms of vote close and escape Gumpy's wrath (ha! 10am local time - take that Australia!).
When I plan my phalla, I want to try and make the vote close time something that both North American and European players can work with and will most likely not be asleep during that time.
currently my best attempt at calculating that time would be Midnight GMT
Riveting as this discussion promises to be, I think it's time we sit down and talk for a moment. It's that time of year again. The time when a stream of multiple holidays begins bearing down upon us, and we turn some portion of our attention away from the drudgery of work and class towards festivities.
All too soon, people will be scaring children that come to the door dressed as bizarre creatures in search of candy, getting ready to deep fry or baste a succulent butterball turkey for twelve hours, and drawing up lists of all the things that they hope a jolly, fat, red-dressed man, or his embodiment, will bring.
And sometimes, in this season of merrymaking, when we are at our most noble, we begin thinking of bringing joy not only to ourselves, but to others. Good will towards men, and all that jazz. So to that end, I bring word that sign-ups for the newest iteration of Secret Phalla, aka Secret Seers 2008, has begun. The basic gist is a Secret Santa geared specifically at the Phalla crowd.
If you'd like to participate, or just want more information, I welcome you to follow this, or the conveniently placed link in my signature.
I now return you to your previous discussion on why Gumpy chooses poor times, and why Obbi will inevitably curl up into a little ball and weep.
Unless I hear otherwise soon, I'm going to put up signups for a mini tomorrow because my main game is next and dammit all I don't want to run both at the same time. :P
Arg! I've got my mini that's been ready to go for weeks, and I keep missing a chance to run it. You've got the next main, HB, but I want a mini slot for it.

Play, plox. There will be puppies.
So I put it out to the players:
A) Queen mini soon
Or
Queen phalla instead of phalla of the dead
Do it now!
:winky:
That's why.

You should be good. Thorgot is king.
Well, if he is the king, then who is his ?

I hope I have not greatly misjudged the number of people who want to play in this game

I mean, what the fuck.
I will grudge you forever.
I mean.
Wait.
Wildcat was in charge of the paper...
Goddamnit, Wildcat double crossed me!
Also, I have made new mechanics, my game may be The Madness Phalla.
Or a Liberal Crime Squad one.
I need somebody to pick for me, I have ADHD and a lack of willpower, and eight phallas, nearly finished, are tormenting me.

Only if one of the roles is Christina Hendricks.
Yeah, she's pretty phenomenal.
I have a very rough start to the week ahead of me ]=

I have finally decided.
Okay, now I have to make a map.
And roles.
Okay, I have two roles, somebody suggest player size for a 'small' research station in the fucking Technological Singularity.
