I think it did, basically a level of strategy that Bioshock was missing. Ammo was everyfuckingwhere in Bioshock, and you could hold a whole lot of it, while in SS, you had to be really careful with it

and I guess the research camera replaced the "go get appropriate chemical to reserach x organ", but still

I made it a fucking cakewalk with the wrench. I was leaving ammo behind after a while. Same thing with BioShock.

I was always running out of ammo in Bioshock up until the very last section of the game where it started to become a lot more abundant. Either I sucked at it or I should have researched the enemies like the game suggested.
