Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Smile, you're on [my sociology thesis]!

Now I want to know if Kate's SO ever taught himself to play violin :P

He only actually needed two bars worth of violin notes, and eventually managed to get the hang of it enough to record the passage he wanted (with the help of copious amounts of vibrato and Protools). ;)

I really want to say how proud I am of Kate for putting together such a well-received thesis -- especially given that I was staying with her while she did the bulk of the work, and I went out of my way to be a huge distraction. :3

Also, I forgive her for writing her thesis on the subforum that single-handedly chased me away from PA. >_>

BTW, I got a message from Obs that equated installing OS X on a PC with car theft, murder and rape. Is he normally like that?

That's incredible, Kate. Glad I got to see it. :D

The avalanche has already started; it is too late for the pebbles to vote.

Nice paper, I liked it! Some really interesting points in there, I especially liked in-depth discussion on the 'empty' thread.

    And I got screenshotted! Woo!

    Science!

Holy cow, I'm in a thesis paper. Although, I have to say; I have really increased my physical activity and have been actively looking to get into martial arts. But that's besides the point. Looking at the thread now, and where I've been over the past few months, it showed me how to not take myself so seriously.

Interesting paper, I just wish I hadn't come off as such an angsty whiner. Heh.

    Edit: Cited even. Wow.
