REGARDING SPOILERS:
As it's on right now, I'm favouring those who're watching the show live, and allowing spoilers. Most people are using this thread to discuss the new episodes as they come out, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. If you're not up to date and you want to know if the show's awesome, then yes, it's totally worth it. Watch it all, then come here.
All kinds of spoiler discussion is totally fine, EXCEPT for stuff about future episodes. However, official statements (like stuff RDM says) are totally fine to say, because if he chooses to release stuff like that, it's probably more clarification of ambiguous stuff than spoiler.
NOTE: People in the UK (this includes me, OP) get episodes on the Weds after the US Fri/Sat airdate. That means this place is going to have a bunch of spoilers in that time. Again, sorry, but the majority wins.

And, for those of you at home:
Here is the Battlestar Galactica Wiki.
It's a fantastic resource, and should be your first port of call for any info about anything BSG,
though, of course, bear in mind it's full of spoilers if you're not up to date.

NEWS JUST IN:
19/08/08 - A two-hour television movie will air sometime after the series finale. It will be based
on the perspectives of two cylon agents before the attack on the 12 colonies and hence the
events will take place before the mini-series from 2003.

08/12/08 - Caprica is confirmed to be receiving a full season of 20 episodes ("including" the two
hour pilot - not sure if that means 20+2 or 18+2) to be filmed in '09 for a premiere of early '10.

DATES:
Movie: Summer 2009
Caprica: Early 2010

If not, it's still better than whoever else they come up with by far.

    12 episodes left.

However SciFi decided to extend the final season, which means there will be some kind of massive cliffhanger on June 13th, then probably a six month break before they air the "final-final" 9 episodes of the series.

    Oh and by the way.....

6 month break? Bah, I guess i need to turn to canada when they decide to show it straight through rather then wait.

HA! Space will show what Sci-Fi gives them and so far we have had the exact same schedule. In fact for at least one season you guys got it Friday or Saturday and we got the new eps on Sunday.

    Okay. Here's the deal.

I just started watching Battlestar Galactica a week ago. However, I am already up to season sour, episode three. Yes, I watched the pilot mini-series, all of season one, all of season two, all of season three, and two episodes of season four within a week.

I had no idea this "Razor" thing existed, or these Resistance webisodes.

Should I stop watching season four until I can get my hands on Razor? Does it matter? My understanding is that it is comprised mostely of Pegasus flashbacks. What about these Resistance webisodes?

Also, is it proper to capitalize "Season Four" as such? Is this something of a proper noun? Or is a decapitalized "season four" sufficient?

Also, as I was watching, the promos for each episode seemed to have dialogue and scenes that weren't IN the previous episodes. A recent example is the "integrity" speech between Adama and Adama. The voice-over had extra dialogue in the promo. I think this was during the promo for "Crossroads Part II." Am I just nuts or did they add stuff specifically for "previously on..." clips?

They do add extra stuff to the "previously on". "Razor" is definitely worth watching, but I don't think it's a must-see for S4. And I usually type Season Four.

Edit: And I thought the webisodes sucked.

    Wow.

    Huh.

    Wow.
    Spoiler:

Was it just me, or did Starbuck look more confident in this one?

The 'previously on' segments are read more like 'plot threads synopsis'. If a Season 3 episode is going to deal with a plot element first introduced in the pilot, next expanded on in Season 2, then they'll say 'previously on BSG, this thing happened, followed by this thing. Now, watch this new thing'. It's minorly spoilery, as you can use them to divine which plot threads they're going to be dealing with.

That's not what I mean...I mean they literally add content to old scenes that didn't exist when they aired the episode. Like, say in Season 2, Episode 10 Colonel Tigh says "I like turkey!" And then in the promo for Season 3, Episode 4 the promo will have him say "I like turkey because my mother fed me turkey when I was seven!" The "...because my mother fed me turkey when I was seven..." part was never a part of the original episode. It's kind of disconcerting when you are watching the episodes (hell, seasons) back-to-back.

    Also...Season 3 question about Starbuck:
    Spoiler:

Also, does Lee's willingness to punch Starbuck prove he is a misogynist or a feminist?

Can you spoil that stuff about the turkey? Christ, this thread is lawless with the spoilers...

Also, that was the omega spoiler earlier in the thread. The spoiler by which all others should be measured. It looked all innocent, with its little "show spoiler" button, but then I clicked it and it grabbed my face and wouldn't let go.

Oh well, I'll still enjoy the episode.

Er, the Adama/Adama conversation in Crossroads Part I was expanded for the promo in Crossroads Part II. But that's a mild example...there were scenes actually added to explain stuff in some promos. I cannot cite specifics scenes or dialogues right now as I'm at work. Perhaps when I get home I'll rifle through. But entire conversations were actually added to promo scenes that never even happened in the episodes themselves.

These definitely exist. There's one where Billy talks to Roslin about... something. I think they're talking about the fuel ship, and it would therefore probably be the episode with the strike. Whatever it was, the conversation had never happened in an episode before.

Yeah, I vaguely remember that one too.

A lot of them make sense but some others are way out of left field and show conversations that weren't even like extensions of the episode. I mean they follow the previous episode and relate to the new episode, but they present information - an apology, that someone knows something you didn't know they knew, etc. - that isn't available unless you watch all the "previously on..." clips before each episode.
