The new VMAX is kinda ugly compared to the old one. Still way cool, though.

started on a '76 cr125m elsinore, then an '80-sumthin it200. just stopped riding when i went into the army.

just started again a few years ago on an '03 883 custom xl. was gonna buy it, but i think i'll hold out a bit longer for a 1200 or a cenzi. or that thing stale posted. goddamn. would still like a dirt bike in the garage anyway.

but today, i'm glad i'm not riding. DC is a fucking mess with these storms. i guess it goes without saying: you don't ride a harley in the rain anyway.

    jesus christ.

i'd have to do something about that rear fender, but that is nice. i've ridden a few non-harleys, but was immediately turned of by the sewing machine sound they made when started. plus, i just don't think i get along with massively heavy bikes. i may have to adapt.

I've been seriously considering investing in either a cruiser scooter or a small (250cc or less) motorcycle. Only thing I'm about 6' and only 130 pounds, so I need something that doesn't require a lot of strength to control when parking/backing up. That and I've never been on a bike before, and don't really have anyone around to teach me.

you kinda need full leathers anyway. Anything less and you're probably going to leave quite a bit of you on the road behind you.

if i go more than 20 miles from the house, i'll put on a leather jacket because it would require a highway of some sort. otherwise i'm on the virginia backroads. truthfully, i don't prefer highways.

and yes, road rash, asphalt, wire brush, thank you nurse! new subject!

it's not a fast bike though. it weights 888 pounds and the performance specs are

    Horsepower: 90.6 @ 5250 rpm
    Torque: 110.9 ft.-lbs. @ 2500 rpm
    60-80-mph acceleration: 5.20 sec.
    Quarter-mile acceleration: 12.42 @ 107.23

You can get road rash going 20 mph, or get your feet cut open, or rub your hand to the bone. Wearing anything less than full gear is retarded.

Heh, yeah, it's got more torque, but when it weighs twice as much and has less HPs, well... you know how that ends. To be fair, I like some cruisers a lot. I can't see myself on one, but some of them are damn good looking.

I'm seriously considering selling my 2001 Nissan Xterra and getting a street bike, as I got from 35-50 mpg with mine, and gas prices are... well... terrible.

Hah. Boss Hoss is for wins.

I'm pretty sure 90% of that curb weight is that motor. I want that motor in my Chevelle mmmmmmm. <3

Asians still take home the gold, for what it's worth.

    Boss Hoss v. Kawi ZX12

Man, someone needs to take a Hoss, throw a slick on the back, and a wheelie bar, and take it out for a 1/4 mile spin. I bet that thing could turn low 9s.

Hmm... 2.5 lbs/HP on that thing. 1.88 lbs/HP on an F1 car. Not fucking bad, Boss Hoss.

Oh wait, forget the Power to Weight Ratio, the ZX12R in that video has the same P/W as the Hoss. I mean, it's still impressive, but it's like... a bigger version of the same thing. With a huge V8. Haha.

The Dodge Tomahawk has a theoretical top speed of 350+ MPH. It's also got 500 HP, so... you know, if anyone was crazy/stupid enough to try... I'm sure it would probably be gear limited around 220 or so, though. Waste of gears, otherwise.

Man. I Just have to say.

I've wanted a motorcycle since highschool.

Considering I graduated about 9 years ago, I feel like I let my motorlust age long enough.

Getting this bike is my favourite thing I've done for myself in a long, long time.
