Okay the trip to Russia thing is pretty awesome. Mostly for the one aid workers look of steely disdain.

Where are these from, why were they made? o_O I mean, they are very nicely made and heart-warming in a way, but I can't shake the feeling I'm looking at Chinese propaganda.

They were made to tell the stories of the victims of that big earthquake in China last month.

So yeah, not so much with the propaganda.

If it's Chinese propoganda then it's propoganda the Chinese government doesn't want their citizens to see.

The entire reason I made the post was to rehost them for a forumer in China who claimed he couldn't see them.

Ah, thanks for that. I've seen too much Chinese propaganda to be charmed by these comics, but I can't deny the awesomeness of someone putting efforts into translating all those stories into a readable format.

5/5 for the hell of it.

I get the impression that they're direct translations from the chinese. And oh my god other cultures express themselves differently? Ewwwww!

I had the same reaction actually.

Which is odd, because the Thai life insurance commercials (which may or may not be in that thread) had me bawwwwwing all over the place.

I think I don't understand the meaning of "bawww"

either that or I don't understand why it would be odd to find the comics affecting as well as those Thai insurance commercials

Some of you clearly don't have souls.

They were all very touching, but "the last lesson" made me tear up. But I wiped it before a tear could form, so my masculinity is still intact.

Seriously, though, who cares about propaganda (if it even is progaganda). The Earthquake was a tragedy and the rescue workers are heroes who deserve to be celebrated.

I'm going to vote this five stars the moment I figure out how.

I find the last couple of ones odd. Everything up to that point hits pretty hard, but the last two (the last one especially) were some funny stuff.

    It was just weird.

Yeah. I guess the idea was just to lighten the mood by telling some less tragic stories, but... yeah. Didn't really quite work out.
