Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
Just now I recalled an unknown thread on an unknown forum from some distant time ago that I'd stumbled upon. I would love to be able to read it again. Let me describe it:
The OP drew a few pictures in MS Paint, detailing the backdrop and the beginning of the story. Then other people would post, saying what the character should do next, and the OP would draw that, plus his own twist on what that decision would entail. What followed was a massive epic that spanned countless pages, and culminated in the character fighting off an underground alien invasion.
From what I can remember about the story's beginning, the character was bored with life, went out to the mountains to relax, and fell down a hill into a cave, and from there his encounters only grew stranger and stranger.
I don't know how to begin searching for this. But if anyone else knows that I'm talking about, that thing ruled, didn't it?
A friend mentioned to me something along these lines on the Cyanide and Happiness forum were people contributed to a epic comic. Might be what your thinking of.
That would definitely be the website. Explosm's got a forum dedicated to these interactive stories, occupied at the moment by only one. And it's awful compared to the one I read.
I searched for all threads started by Rob (the man behind it all) and there are at least 11 pages of results. This will be painful.
