You know hearing this about the Muslim community is hardly surprising to me. I think I'm just sort of numb to insanity from the religious sector.

What was more surprisingly (and made me more angry) was apparently a survey by Maxim or the like in Australia found something like 47% of (male) respondants said they would prefer to marry a women who was a virgin on their wedding night.

    What. The. Fuck.

Needless to say, that made me feel like going out there and punching 47% of men in the face. I mean after all the alleged social progress in this country, you get 47% of a survey saying that, that is fucked up.

What about the percentage of those men who were virgins themselves?
No idea. And I don't really think it matters from that perspective anyway - I like to imagine that somehow we have a country of people who think in a slightly wider ranging mindset. But apparently not.

I think wanting to remain celibate until you're married as well as wanting to marry someone who was celibate until they married you is a valid mindset.

Somehow I don't think that christians and other morally 'upright' types comprise the main readership demographic of Zoo or any other lad magazine, sweetie.

Well, I never said that they made up the majority, or even a significant minority, just that some of them probably were. But thanks for being patronizing.
No, but you made no effort to qualify that statement. You openly left it to imply that this would somehow be a significant percentage.

If I gave that impression, I apologize. My only point was that there was at least some, even if very tiny, like less than 1%, of men polled who were virgins themselves who wanted to marry a virgin, and your unqualified statement was that they were all assholes.

You're a smart guy, I think it's pretty clear from my post that (1) I'm using hyperbole and (2) maybe there's wiggle room for exceptional circumstances like that. Which you assumed, by now retroposting that you meant some tiny figure of that number anyway. Which you didn't say.

The only thing I really remember from my first time was that it hurt. They never tell you it can hurt for guys. And since that was my focus, I know I wasn't very good.

o_O Did you bend it wrong or something? I've heard guys say their first time was quite fast, but never that it hurt them.

    I'm...wide. And she was small.

Ah. So more of a pinch really. I don't think that's exclusive to the first time.

People have regrets, and some girls regret giving something emotionally very important to them to someone they shouldn't have. I'm not saying they should regret or be ashamed of it, but I can see it happening.

Really it just stems down to Douchebag guys are the source of insecurity in girls which is the prey of douchebag guys.

I also think some virgin hunters are closet sadists. For some reason, many times when guys described "popping a girls cherry" they seemed to make a point of describing how much pain she was in, as though this turned them on

I get the feeling that's more of an insecurity thing. It's not necessarily about the pain per se, but about accomplishing something with their penis...and since actually giving pleasure can take a bit more skill, whereas pain is easy? If a guy has had trouble actually pleasing a partner who isn't a virgin, this might be an easy out to pump themselves up.

Because merely achieving your own orgasm, while obviously pleasurable, is often not enough to truly satisfy many people.

EDIT: Also, holy shit necropost. Search feature, I'm guessing? ;)

1, this is a pretty crazy thread necromancy.

2, I really miss having quotes auto-link back to the posts they quoted.
Edit: In retrospect, I should have reported instead of bumped, especially since mcdermott posted that out once I bothered to read his post. my apologies.
