So my car was parked on the side of a road, and someone hit it at an angle, causing the forward left blinker and half the headlight to break off. The road was in a suburban area, but no one said they saw anything. I called my insurance company and told them all this, and they said, after giving the usual information and such, to "take it to a repair shop, and call us with the address; we'll send someone out to pay for it". I'm assuming this is par for the course? Will this affect my monthly fees at all?
You may have to pay a deductible in this situation and/or file some additional paperwork with the insurance company, but so far it is SOP for the insurance company.
Unless you have a history of accidents or this happens multiple times, it shouldn't affect your insurance rates.

Usually not the first time. If it becomes a pattern, it might.
