I need a desk/or maybe not?

The desk I have is terrible. It was used in a school. After about an hour of using it, I get sharp pains in my shoulders, and if I try to reposition, I have no room for the mouse to go. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Also, I'm just looking at new desks, because that would be easier, better, yet expensive.

Has anybody tried this one?

Any other suggestions? I just want a lot of mouse room, and a comfortable amount of other room.

I definitely don't want expensive, and I definitely don't want crazy stuff that I don't need, like a built in chair or something.

Thanks!

I'm sure there's better ways to shop for a desk online. Try a local retailer where you can sit in front of it/try it out.

Is size an issue? Do you need numerous shelves and drawers and cubbyholes for stuff? If not, I'd actually reccomend one of those tables that you see in colleges and the like - you know, the resin-y ones with the black rubber borders and the black fold-out legs, with the surface that sort of looks like marble. Combined with a halfway-decent telescoping chair I've found that they work extrordinarily well - the six-footer I've got holds a PC, 22-inch monitor, and a 360 and media selector with ease. Not flashy, but hella' efficient.

EDIT: I suppose I should add that you should be able to find it at any kind of Walmart or general megastore.

Yeah, I have no idea. Desk prices are crazy outrageous.

I think I'll either build one, go to Salvation Army, or just forget about it for now, and deal with the pain.

    Thanks for the help.

    Ikea Build-Your-Own-Table.

    Vika Amon (Desktop) - $30
Vika Curry (Legs) - $5 each.

$50 for basic, good looking, light table. Supported 22" CRT (in the middle of it) for 2 years NO SAGGING!

I use this. It's good and cheap. If you spill water on the table though, be sure to wipe it up fast or it will leave bubbles.
