SO um, for those of you that have Steam, Eidos are doing an everything pack for $100. This boils down to 20 games for the price of a 360 game to us Brits and the games themselves are pretty good. Plus Eidos are allowing us in this Sceptered Isle to buy it unlike Ubisoft and ID the buggers.

Are there any decent deals going for a PSP?
I got a slim white off amazon for 80 quid.

Speaking of which, is it just me or is the fuck all games for it?

Oh, and Lewie, have you gone to LA to meet your favourite band who you love so much you're going to marry all of them, yet?

(Irish Rock kings The Answer, of course. Wait, I don't get paid to write this shit any more. Irish cunts with a stupid fucking manager who wanted me to pimp them every chance I got even for things that had nothing to do with them and god their music is awful beyond words rargh)

Yes, I did, and although their music is only OK, they were all top blokes (except the stupid drummer who canceled on us...some excuse about getting married or something...)

Edit: I had an amazing time, thank you so much for the heads up about the competition.

you know, if anyone's desperate to go to the Reading festival (for whatever bizarre reason, I was there last year and it was rubbish apart from Arcade Fire and Turbonegro...), I'll probably be selling a weekend ticket on eBay soon. Watch this sig!

Don't miss your chance to stand around in the rain for three days, spend £3.50 on a pint of carling, and spend hours waiting to see dozens of interchangeable bands with 'the' in their names play awkward and underwhelming sets, while totally refusing to engage the audience, or seemingly even acknowledge their existence!

Actually, I kid. The weather was actually quite nice last year.

I can see where you're coming from as a large part of festivals comes from the atmosphere, but I think it's still only worth going if you know there are a few bands who you'll enjoy regardless.

I didn't realise how much I wanted to go this year until all the tickets sold out :(. I guess I'll probably try to remember next year depending on the line up.

    i prefer the GH2 version.

Andnowyou'reundercontrol I won't do what you tell me!.

You'd never know it was edited!

I'm being a grumpy bastard, but the lineup just isn't doing anything for me this year. The usual parade of indie tripe and a bunch of bands I listened to when I was 17 and didn't know any better.

And slipknot. Slipknot, for god's sake.

I hate the indie bands, I'm going purely because I have awful taste in music. I still listen to bands that I listened to at 17 and I -should- know better... but I don't.

    My lineup for the festival:

    Anti-Flag
    Rage Against the Machine
    Less than Jake
    Pennywise
    H20
    Goldfinger
    Gallows
    Alkaline Trio (Guilty pleasure...)
    Flogging Molly
    MxPx
    The King Blues
    Metallica
    Tenacious D (I'm curious)
    Dropkick Murphies.

As well as whatever comedy acts they have on this year. If anyone is wanting to go to Leeds I -may- have a friend who has a ticket or two for sale at face value. Give me a pm and I'll see what I can sort out but it won't be till nearer the time (it hinges on if a friend or two drop out)

Also Zilla360, I'll be working in Leeds full time by the end of September if you'd care for a drink at the end of a long hard day working for the man? I currently work there once or twice a week.

    Hi5 on Alkaline Trio.

I tend to not make huge shopping lists, since I always end up missing things, but RATM, Alkaline Trio, Crystal Castles, Foals, The Ting Tings (my mates fiancé!), The Music and close personal friends of mine the Plain White T's are on my "want to see" list.

Crap, I just realised that RATM and Dan le Sac vs Scroobius Pip clash...

    RATM are just a band...

Y'know we could take this discussion (and angle it ever so slightly towards video games so as not to veer off topic and be locked) to the lovely Leeds Festival thread I set up earlier :)

Also LewieP is a high flying internet super-star being close friends with Plain WHite T's and The Ting Tings (incidentally plain white t's made the huge error of playing that song of theirs everyone likes last year half way through the set and a good proportion of folks left).

Finally, deals. Game have Ninja Gaiden in store at £19.99 pre-owned. They also have Need For Speed: Pro Street for £9.99 pre-owned on PS3.

Oh and if anyone wants the 360 wheel and can find a gamestation with one in stock (the York one does) then they're only £45 pre-owned.

There were some other cheap deals in Game. £13.99 for Ratchett and Clank pre-owned on PS3 was one that springs to mind.

(see how I swung that back on track?)
