APZonerunner: I was in Birmingham today with work and after I finished I went looking for good video game shops. Not knowing the place I failed miserably. Are there any about?

Hmm. In the city center?
There's a GAME inside the Bullring. There's a GAME in the "Pallisades" (down the road from the Bullring, another small shopping center. Also accessible through the bullring.) And there's a lovely, smaller GAME inside Selfridges which is inside the Bullring.
Other than that, there's also Gamestation, which is on the main high street, which is the biggest videogame store (in terms of floor space) in the country. They've closed the Basement now, so it might not be, but it definitely was at some point.
There's a Gamestop (!) in the Bull Ring too, a tiny spitty little store that was part of their failed UK invasion many years ago that for some reason never closed.
There's also a CEX underneath where Omega Sektor used to be. (:()
All the usual suspects, basically, because shop space in the city center is expensive and indies can't afford it. Gaming related, there's a Forbidden Planet too, who of course stock loads of gaming stuff like books, action figures, etc.
Heh, I don't actually like the outside much (and it's only rented) but it's lovely inside. It's the one on the right with the red peugeot! Although it's now a red Focus instead.
I'm sure i've had this conversation before but do you live in Leeds?
Apz: Ahh, I was looking for something a little more independent-ish. I like to try when I'm in different places. I wandered the Bullring being it's opposite the station, which in turn is 2 minutes from the offices I was at. Didn't see the Gamespot though. Bugger.

Gamestop is more on the way in. On the path from the station into the Bullring. It's actually fairly good in there.

Is there not also a GAME in Birmingham New Street? I remember having some time to kill a long long time ago in the station and I stumbled on a copy of Mischief Makers for the N64 at the time.
They've got some decent Blu-ray deals going too, I think. The Fall is tempting at 9.99...
I think something's wrong with me. I wasn't really that interested in Persona 4, then I see your post and I'm all, 'well, I guess it would be almost rude if I didn't, at that price'.
EDIT: Heh, so that was Downfall, not The Fall. Also a good movie, but you don't need it on Blu-ray.
The Fall is an incredible film but I must be honest and say the Bluray transfer isn't THAT astounding. Given the stunning scenery I expected it to be beautiful.
Don't get me wrong it was better than DVD quality but far from the best transfer I've seen.
I watched it on a 42" Panasonic Plasma at 1080P and I was underwhelmed but perhaps I expected a little too much. It's certainly not the best I've seen.
Gamestop is more on the way in. On the path from the station into the Bullring. It's actually fairly good in there.
Do you actually go to Brum often then? Only wondering cause I remember your CoC Lets Play and <3ed it. if you're ever in the area again, I owe you a drink for the entertainment!
Alternatively, if you're after anything a GAME person can provide just ask!
FYI to the person asking if there is a Game at New Street. Answer is no. Only got Bullring and Pallisades, you could have possibly gone to the Pallisades as Bullring opened after N64.

I go up every so often to see family and what not. Sadly I live quite a distance. However I would love to say hello some time
It seems like every thread I regularly read is a discussion about Ubisoft games right now. Maybe someone should just make a Ubisoft Hate/Love thread so that everything else can continue as normal.

Your neighbour's bin is pretty crazy.
On topic with the off topic stuff:
Scary goings-on outside Mr Grinch's house...
The strange obelisk has indeed made this bin go crazy
Also, something I made for Jam Warrior a while ago...
You know, the strange thing is I can see that obelisk from my living room!

It's only 200 points on Goozex, but there aren't any available and there are three people waiting for it.
Deadly Creatures for 15 quid, Persona 4 for £9.99 are some pretty good deals.
I should not be looking at this.
