As long as it's strongly (or less) barricaded you can enter. Then once you have free running you can hop over to the extremely heavily barricaded buildings and you're good to go.

Sounds fun, but I'm terrible at trying to figure out where the hell I'm at in this game. My survivor is a level 6-ish fireman with construction, shopping, and the ability to smash faces with an axe, so hopefully I'd be able to help out. The name's Brian Carroll.
1 week playing, as a human I could never find a zombie (or at least hit one) and most of the buildings I couldnt get into.
As a zombie, I cant find anyone to eat, nor any barricades to trash.
I want to like this, but after a week of frustration with no rewards, I doubt ill ever log in again.
Whatever, my character just got hurt twice moving around while using his first actions.
Also, what's with like a whole sector of the city falling apart?
