Cain doesn't have any time to react before Boaz pulls the trigger, blowing a sizable hole in his head. His lifeless body falls to the ground, the twisted joints in his legs causing him to collapse into an odd heap.

((Well I don't necessarily like it either, but Boaz is not exactly an accepting person from a tolerant place or time, so he may be apt to do bad things in the name of his creed or species. So might as well put down a mutant after they're no longer needed and before they do something really abominable and get eveyrone else tainted.))

Boaz breaks the gun's breach open and casually drops another round in the chamber.

"There is no room in the Imperial faith for traitors to the flesh," He says as he keeps the gun in hand, glaring at anyones' stares of protest. "There is no redemption for the traitor *nor* mutant in life, and I will put all of us to the same judgment. Are we clear?"

"We should trace our route back to the upper levels and report back. Someone carry him," he gestures to Viswanat.

"So... you know da way back? What if some rocks fell?"

"Not in this span of time, surely. I trust our own assessments after having found the way here."

Parthus frisks Cain's body and tosses Boaz the keys and the coins you had paid him earlier. Then he hoists Viswanat onto his shoulders and you all begin the trek back up to the service. The journey back is made without incident, and with an uncomfortable silence between all of you.

Upon returning to House Timon, Viswanat is taken away by servants in order for his wounds to be attended to, and Parthus goes with them to make sure the bite he received from the Frexid was not poisonous in any way. Another servant leads Boaz and Paba to a simple room much like the one all of you first met in, only with a table in the center, with a tall man wearing House Timon colors seated at it. He beckons for the two of you to sit and asks for you to hand over the tome.

"The Librum had been located, but already the Tome had been removed by persons unknown. We were lead there by a mutant, claiming to have lead other individuals to that site previously. He did not say any of them entered successfully, but I would believe one of them must have, to have taken the text before us."

"Dat's probably why I woulda asked him who else he led down dere, before killing 'im"

The man stares at you over his steepled fingers for a moment.

"And, you interrogated this mutant for information about these individuals?"

"Well, you didn't ask at any point; you were busy turning your back to him and walking head first down whatever dangerous path or dark lair he presented. I would not have taken faith in his answers anyway."

"The perpetrator went in only for the tome, walking nowhere else. Whoever it was, they had similar resources to locate the item as we did."

"Any other... interested parties... we may suspect to be at play are none of your concern. There will be other resources dedicated to following up on the acquisition of the item, but any direct contributions you could have made have been... exhausted."

"I would suggest, in the future, that you give more consideration to the priorities given you, and to refrain from acting on personal impulses until they have been fulfilled." The man motions to the servant who had led you in. "You will be taken to your lodgings now. We may have need to debrief you further individually later, so please do not leave the premises until given permission."
