Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it,
follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given
their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!

Envy is such a petty emotion. Azio, you are a bad man for making us feel this way.
Yeah I was trying a bunch of games on the new 52 inch TV. I was surprised how good Lost Coast years later.
For some reason this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Where did you get the Fuwa?!
[Edit] I feel like afool after seeing those TVs. But still, this is a damn beautiful shot. I've never seen a "desk picture" that evoked a since of, art. BTW are you running 5.1 out of a MBP and if so how?
The MBP supports 5.1 through it's optical out (which is the same as its headphone port)

This is just an old card table I got from my relatives until such time as I can get off my butt and buy a real desk. You can see how the table sags in the middle between the two monitors.
I need better cable management, and a nice place to put my headphones, but I figure I'll take care of that when my setup is more permanent.
Heh, this picture reminded me that I need to turn my external HD back on.
Wii: As soon as I look it up.
Take a 50-Pack CD/DVD spindle, put hotglue on the bottom of it, and stick it to the wall next to your desk (or nail it). Voila, some place to hang your headphones that doesn't look like ass.
Yea you can. Hot glue comes off easily without tearing off most kinds of paint. Just go to a craft store and ask for special glue made for painted walls.
EDIT: Also, before you spend money on finding something to hang your headphones on get yourself another desk, good lord man.

That is fucking glorious.
I hope your bed or at least a lounge is out of frame.
Work desk.

...with a bobble head Pikachu on his desk. Don't hate. Everybody thinks it's cute.
Just behind my SSD Frankenlaptop are my three cans of Smart Mass Thinking Putty. I love putty. If I could only keep one desk toy, it would be putty.
I'll post my home setup later tonight.

Or you can let your case wear them.
The main system, where all the work and some of the game play gets done.
Work table, with my test bed currently setup on it. Test bed is a fair degree more powerful then my main system, so I tend to play more punishing games on it.
Finally what I've come to affectionatly call "the pile." It's an ever morphing collection of hardware, boxes, and paperwork.
I never finish anyth
What do you want me to do, cut holes in the wall?
My aging Powerbook reigns supreme with nearly every port on the left filled. Bose speaker system is missing the right speaker (in for repair). My favorite part of the whole desk is the chibi-Voltron by the lamp.
Living room. Sorry for the grainy picture (lighting in there sucks right now + camera phone). That's a 37" Toshiba Regza. A Mac Mini with 1.8TB of external storage is hooked up to it, which now houses my entire movie and TV DVD collection. No more disk swapping... forever.
Also of note in that picture are my white Gamecube controller, all 7 BitGeneration games, MOTHER1+2, MOTHER3 and part of my collection of every Douglas Adams book ever written.

Thanks! I'm still working on a way to minimize the cable mess down on the bottom there... there were supposed to be doors on the three cubes in the bottom center, hiding the external drives and cables, but when I went to buy the doors the only ones they had were white (damn you Ikea!). So now I have to drag a carpenter friend in to help me build some black ones.
I was actually pleasantly surprised when I bought that shelving unit how well my TV fit into it... it's almost like it was made for it. I'm sure you could fit a 42" in it also if it had a thin bezel like a Sharp Aquos, but I'm happy with my 37" for now.

Pictured -
Dell Precision Workstation rocking an Intel Core 2 Quad, 4GB of RAM, Dual Nvidia GeForce Quadros - hooked up to three Dell 20 inch Ultrasharp monitors (2 fullscreen, 1 widescreen)
Apple First Generation Intel iMac, 20 inch
Apple Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo, 4GB Ram, 17 Inch Glossy Cinema Display with LED backlight running at 1080p.
I must admit the two apples are just temp, normally I only have the three monitors, but this was definitely a photo op.

It looks odd because I squashed it, but that is a 19" monitor
EDIT: Added in a better picture of the full desk.

I'm messing around for a Zombie Panic map, hopefully if it works and I tart it up pretty enough it'll go into my Portfolio.
