Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
So about card games at pax. Im guessing the big ones like Magic, WoW, and pokemon will be there, but i'm wondering about some of the less played ones (i.e. the ones I play)
So I think a TCG topic would be a great way for people to find others who like the obscure card games.
i'll go first. Hi, im looking for other people who play WWE Raw Deal and Doomtown
"The_Reflection has a story, that must be told"..."He is already a legend, and he ain't even old"
"He can drink a river of blood and not burst"..."He can swallow a desert and never thirst"
I've been out of CCGs in general for a long time, but would love to bring a Magic deck or two if I thought I had half a chance against anything built from sets released in the last oh... ten years or so. Would there be any interest for a little nostalgia play, say nothing later than Tempest/7th edition or something?
Anyone know where we can find the latest rules on the WoW TCG? With there being a TON of expansions, I don't know what's still fair game and what is not.

I heard Doomtown was an incredibly awesome game. It went out of print though, right? I remember an old roommate of mine talking about that game, it sounded cool. Is there somewhere that one can likely pick up some Doomtown cards on the cheap? I'd be up for playing if I could find some cards at a reasonable price.
How about some non-CCG card games like Illuminati or others like that
I'll probably bring my copy of Infernal Contraption. I first tried it at the PP booth last year, and loved it. Now it's hands down the geekiest thing I can get my wife to play.

I still have my Star trek Deck. Not that i remember how to play... Also have an old crappy magic deck from 3rd/4th edition. Wish i did not sell off all my good magic cards though.
I also have a couple WoW starter decks, never played though. Heard it was similar to magic...
I'll have spoils, maybe one battletech deck just for the hell of it, and one or two eve ccg's on me. Plus magic but that goes without saying. And quite possibly pokemon.
I will have some obsolete Magic decks to embarrass myself with.
Overwhelmed as one would be, placed in my position
Such a heavy burden now to be the one
Born to bare and read to all the details of our ending
To write it down for all the world to see
But I forgot my pen...

I sooo know that ya'll are taking 'bout CCGs and whatnot...
Spoiler:
'Cause I know noone is that weird enough to play KH with a noob.
Anywho! Since back in the day before the Countdown finally hit to 31 days--now 29ish--someone brought up a "Classics Game" thread; I as well was thinking about classic card games. i.e. Canasta, Cribbage or War. Maybe Speed? California Speed? Go Fish. Crazy Eights. Spoons. etc.
Ya'll get the drift I hope.

I'd be down for a game of Spades... ooh, or Tripoley! =) Tripoley was like the trademark game of my extended family. Every time we get together, someone starts it... and that's all we do all night. My grandfather before he passed on two weeks ago had a gigantic vase FILLED with pennies for the game. =)
Come to think of it, I wonder where that penny vase is. It must have like 100 bucks in pennies. =) lol

Wait, Spades? Other people play that? It's on! (and i'm serious)
Also, anyone up for some just recreational WoW TCG?
Vthorn, I'm calling you out!
Magic Cards at PAX. Be there or get a -1/-1 counter for every day you are not there.
Seriously, though, it should be hilarious. I haven't played in years.
Excellent ACC3SS! =) If I make it to PAX, I will be there! I may even try to re-assemble my 4 color Ink-Treader Nephalim deck. It's a lot of fun... luckily, most of the cards were cheap. I think I can re-assemble an even more ghetto version of it in time for PAX if the fates favor me in my attempt to get to PAX =)
A friend that's going in my group has decks of Munchkin (Cthulhu and Bites), Falling, Fluxx, and Fluxx Zombies. To my knowledge, he's bringing all with him. My husband and I have a ton of mid-90s Middle Earth TCG cards, but at best if we bring any, it would just be one deck each. That is, of course, if we could agree on who gets to put the One Ring in their deck.
I play
Yugioh,
Magic,
and Duel Masters
^^^(I got it just to try it out, It's not bad, I like it because It's one of the simplest ccg/tcg I've ever played. Too bad it got killed off)
Didn't mean to rag on anyone's deck, if that helps =) I just mean come as you are, don't worry about buying all new cards to meet the limited tournament rules and all that junk. =)

Haha, that laughter was because I also have an old deck. Exciting times ahead!
well, the thing is there are going to be a LARGE number of Magic players there because Wizards is going to be there running some tournies.
The only problem with going in the tourneys at PAX is that they represent a huge timesink. I ended up playing magic all day saturday last year, and felt like I ended up missing out on a lot of other stuff.
This year I think I'll just stick to random casual se- Games! I mean Games!

Timesink? SINK? Man, I'm DYIN' to play some Magic the Gathering with my fellow gamers for as much time as humanly possible! Of course, I'll have to stop when my FINGERS start bleeding, on account of my cards getting all marked up...
Seriously, though. I got together 4 decks for random Magic Goodness during PAX. Is everybody just going to hang out around the Wizards booth? How will I find all of my fellow MtG players? I haven't been able to seriously play for about 10 years, so don't go smokin' me with all of your new, fancy-shmancy rules!
Goodbye, plucky, pimply teen. I think you're ready now to hear the truth. This wasn't really a magic hubcap. The magic was inside you all along.
Quick notice to everyone, there is to be no gambling at PAX. Strictly forbidden and all of that. If money hits the table you hit the street.
As for CCGs, UDE will be running WoW and probably WoW minis, WotC will probably have M:tG, PAX will be running UFS. All other games are of course welcome, but aren't on the schedule for tournaments.
I have several Magic decks I will be taking with me to PAX. They're mostly cards from 7th, Onslaught and beyond so I lack most of the butch cards from earlier generations. Nonetheless, I'm waiting to see how much I suck after having not played since 2004.

That looks cool, I definitely want to try it.
I hope you have a very large table.

So if any of you guys have a deck, bring it along!
Wait, people still play that? I had thought of it until it turned out you could just print cards off the internet and the game wouldn't know.
OH FUCK YEAH!! Me and my friend play. We are noobs with noob decks but we love it.

Man I would totally play, been freakin yearssss since the last time, I don't even remember the rules at all.
But we could totally play if there's a little friendly wager involved.
