Our new Indie Games subforum is now open for business in G&T. Go and check it out, you might land a code for a free game. If you're developing an indie game and want to post about it, follow these directions. If you don't, he'll break your legs! Hahaha! Seriously though.
Our rules have been updated and given their own forum. Go and look at them! They are nice, and there may be new ones that you didn't know about! Hooray for rules! Hooray for The System! Hooray for Conforming!
I really don't think they should be adding vehicle combat to Diablo III, and how is this new menu system going to mesh with the classic clickclickclickclick combat system?

see it's funny because Diablo III is brighter than previous Diablo games.
On red alert one for the playstation, if you built too many units the game would spawn a lighting cloud that would start destroying all your shit, so I'm playing vs. with a link cable and the damn cloud spawns, so I drop about I don't know three nukes on it and it went away
The problem is, there's no skirmish mode, so it's really hard to coordinate with the other players that you're just trying to get a feel for the units. It's even harder when the game is entitled No Rush and the first thing your teammate does is rush the enemy and get killed and now you have 2 bases to worry about.
Temporal Vortexes on the original Red Alert were fun.
On the PC version they'd spawn if you used the chronosphere too much.
I was playing with a friend, using the chronosphere constantly to harass his base or steal his ore truck. Really was pissing him off, but I kept at it. What can I say? At that point I was just doing it to be a douche.
Then a Vortex spawns and starts heading toward his base.
"WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS" he starts typing. "OH MY GOD STOP IT WHY WON'T IT DIE. OH MY GOD MY BASE."
Apparently he'd never seen one before and it was wrecking his mind.

The first Age of Empires 3 expansion added a treaty mode that made no rush games work way better. More games need to add that.
i played a shitload of command & conquer in college. Never got into Red Alert.
Did you ever play Tiberian Sun? My friends and I used to build smaller sub-bases on our frontier and use them as Mutant Production Labs, where we'd use chemical missiles and stuff to convert our hapless soldiers into horrible mutants.
And then at the right moment you could unleash them.
Fuck knows they wouldn't ever go in the direction you wanted but it did add spice to the map to have some mutant blobs stomping around, wrecking anything that came close.

It was also fun to use artillery to dig a big trench around your base. I don't think the deformable terrain slowed anything down but it did look pretty neat.
Well so far I have gotten crushed by everyone. I'm sitting here trying to figure out what each of the troops does and BAM someone's destroying my naval yard....again

i'll probably be playing it on 360 though
interested in how they're handling the controls there
I mean it still looks fun and all, but whoa, bright environs.
I haven't actually gotten to try it out yet, it just finished installing.

Never played it but as I've read the controls for the other C&C games on 360 were quite good.

Probably not relevent but she reminds me of that Yukie in Bloodlines
Ahahaha
Yes I did that too
It was funny how the game displayed multiple nukes.
NUKENUKENUKENUKENUKE <flash>
*Everything explodes*
I remember thinking as I did it "Oh man this is going to throw the balance of the game way off..."
I was right, I guess.
I thought that rule applied to things like nukes.
So I made a custom map with like a few million credits in gemstones.
And proceeded to make about a fifty nuke silos before I realized it took 20 minutes no matter what I tried.
Also do you remember the trick from RA:Counterstrike that would create a tesla tank instead of a radar jammer if you held down ALT while clicking it?
Fuck, now I really want to play Red Alert with you people.
bloomed the fuck out
and that you all wanted to play some warcraft 3 tft

Oh man I use to play those all the time on Westwood Online. With the nuke trucks and everything, so much fun.
How do you get into the RA3 beta?
Is Georgia a playable faction this time around?
of course
frankly, I'm not impressed. C&C:KW is a far superior play
